Welcometoanewyearofexciting possibilitiesandopportunities!As atechnologyteacher, you aredriventoprovideyour students witheveryopportunitytoexplorethedynamicsoftechnologyandtheroleTSAcancontributetoyourstudents’ understandingabout thetechnicalworld.Thereareeventsandactivitiesavailableforallstudents.Weencourage you toincludeTSAactivitiesas anintegralco-curricular partofyourclassroomandlaboratoryinstruction.Pleaseconsidertheopportunitiesyou canprovide foryour students byjoiningtheonlystudentorganization whichfocusesspecificallyon students enrolledintechnologyeducation.

Weencourage you toaffiliateyourlocalchapterwithNationalTSAearlyintheschoolyearsoyourstudentsmayreceivethefullbenefitofstateandnationalmembership.Virginia TSAandNationalTSAprovidea unifiedannualmembershippackage.Affiliation,which is conducted onlinethrough thenationalwebsite,willbegin inSeptember.Eachchapterwillreceivea freelinktotheTotalTSAEventGuidewithaffiliation.

There are threemembershipoptionsavailabletostudentsandschools.The optionsareprovided below:

1.RedChapterAffiliationProgram(RedCAP)

Achapteraffiliatesup totenmembersbypaying a flatfee(additionalmembersmaybeaddedduringtheyearfora fee).Themembershipfee forRedCAPis$100atthenationallevelplus$20Virginiastatedues.

2.WhiteChapterAffiliationProgram(WhiteCAP)

Achapteraffiliateselevenormoremembersbypayinga permemberWhiteCAPfeeforstateandnationaldues.ThemembershipfeeforWhiteCAPis$10permemberatthenationallevelplus$2Virginiastatedues.

3.Blue Chapter AffiliationProgram(BlueCAP)

Achapter affiliatesanunlimited numberofmembersinaschoolforaflatfee(typicallyeffective whentherearemore than 38members).Thisoption ispopular inchapterswherestudentsrotatethrougha TechnologyEducation classforaportionoftheyeartoenableallstudents tobe members. Themembership fee for BlueCAPis$350atthe national level plus $75Virginiastatedues.

Theaffiliationdeadlinefornon-interruptedservices isNovember20, 2016. Ifyouaffiliate byNovember 20th,youwillreceiveuninterruptedservice,recognitionofcontinuousannualchapteraffiliation, agoldsealaffiliationcertificate,andacomplimentarycopyof the2015/16TSA InformationDirectory.Onlychapteraffiliations receivedbythe closeof business onNovember 20thwill be eligiblefor these bonusbenefits.Affiliationscompleted online arenotprocesseduntil dues arereceived bythenationaloffice throughaschoolpurchaseorder,creditcardnumber, orcheck.InordertobeconsideredAFFILIATEDyourPurchaseOrder(FaxedorScanned),CreditCardNumberorCheckmustbeprovidedtotheNationalOffice.
