Monday: 4/14 / Reading/Homework Due: Read Ch. 31.2 (p.904-909)· We will introduce the subject of World War II and discuss the Great Depression and the obstacles facing the Weimar Republic between the wars.
Tuesday: 4/15 / Reading/Homework Due:
· We will continue our discussion of the Great Depression.
Wednesday: 4/16 / Reading/Homework Due: Read 31.3 (pp. 910-914) Optional Reading Ch. 32.3, pages 936-939.
· We will continue our discussion of the events leading up to the outbreak of World War II, focusing on the rise of Mussolini and Hitler. We will also discuss the Holocaust.
Thursday: 4/17 / Reading/Homework Due:
· We will continue our discussion of the spread of fascism.
Friday: 4/18 / Reading/Homework Due: Read Ch. 30.2 (p.874-881) Optional Reading Ch. 31.4 (pp.915-919)
· We will discuss with Joseph Stalin and the USSR after Lenin.
· We will continue our discussion of the events leading up to the outbreak of World War II, focusing on events immediately preceding the war.

· We will discuss the outbreak of the war and major events/concepts within the conflict itself, focusing on the European theater.
Tuesday: 4/22 / Reading/Homework Due: Read Ch. 32.2 (pp.931-935)
· We will continue discussing major events/concepts within the conflict, focusing on the Pacific theater and the entry of the United States into the war.

· We will continue discussing the major events in the war.

· We will discuss major turning points of the war and the Allied victory. We will also talk about the immediate aftermath of the conflict.

· We will continue our discussion of the war’s aftermath.

· Our discussion of the aftermath of the war will turn to decolonization, including nationalism in China and the spread of communism in East Asia
Wednesday: 4/30 / Reading/Homework Due: Read Ch. 30.4 (pp.887-889, stop at “Nationalism in Southwest Asia”) Optional reading and Ch. 34.1 (pp.997-999, stop at “Modern India”)
· We will discuss decolonization and the independence movement in India.
