Drawing One - Lettering

Instructions

· Using masking tape, tape A4 drawing paper horizontally to drawing table.

· Draw 10mm border lines round paper.

· Draw Title Block at bottom of paper as per sheet supplied.

· Draw 6 Lettering Lines 5mm apart.

· Measure down from top border 10mm then 5mm. Repeat 10mm then 5mm until you have 6 Lettering Lines 5mm apart.

· Lines must be light as they are only a guide for lettering.

· Commence lettering as per sheet supplied.

· Print details in Title Block as per sheet supplied.

NOTE: Students are required to purchase a Scale Rule showing 1:1, 1:2, 1:5, 1:10 and a 45° and 30° - 60° set square.

Drawing Two – Freehand drawing (Cabriole leg)

Instructions

· Using masking tape, tape A4 drawing paper vertically to drawing table.

· Draw 10mm border lines round paper.

· Draw Title Block at bottom of paper.

· Divide drawing area into 25mm squares – 7 across and 10 down.

· Freehand draw the ‘Cabriole Leg’ as shown on the sheet supplied.

· Fill in the Title Block.

Drawing Three – Isometric Freehand drawing (Bedside cabinet)

Instructions

· Using masking tape, tape A4 drawing paper vertically to drawing table.

· Draw 10mm border lines round paper.

· Draw Title Block at bottom of paper.

· Produce an isometric freehand sketch of the bedside cabinet illustrated.

· Your sketch must be a mirror image, that is, the door and draw must be drawn on the right hand of the cabinet – not the left.

· Fill in the Title Block.

Drawing Four – Scaled drawing

Instructions

· Using masking tape, tape A3 drawing paper horizontally to drawing table.

· Draw 20mm border on left hand side and 10mm border on other sides.

· Draw Title Block at bottom of paper.

· Divide drawing area into 4 equal sections.

· Draw to scale each shape beginning at starting point in each section as shown on the sheet supplied.

· Fill in the Title Block.

Drawing Five – Coffee Table

Scale 1:10

Instructions

· Using masking tape, tape A4 drawing paper horizontally to drawing table.

· Draw 20mm border on left hand side and 10mm border on other sides.

· Draw Title Block at bottom of paper.

· Draw front elevation, plan, side elevation and leg and rail detail as shown on the sheet supplied.

· Fill in the Title Block.

Specifications

· Top set into frame 30mm.

· End rails 100mm x 40mm.

· Side rails 80mm x 40mm.

· End rails are set in from leg edge 10mm.

· Legs 100mm x 40mm.

· Top 40mm thick.

· Side rails are dowelled to legs.

· End rails are mortice and tenon.

· Leg and rail detail to be drawn in bottom right hand corner.

· Drawing to be fully dimensioned.
