The Meeting was called to order at 9:13 am by Nick Tatman, SFY 2017 Chairperson.

Previous Minutes: Previous minutes were available in the agenda packet.

Budget Report: An updated budget report was available in the agenda packet.
Motion to Accept: Pam Hively; Second: Elaine Miller; Vote: Unanimous

FCFC 101: Kim Martin briefly reviewed the six indicators to child well-being.

Committee Reports

Finance Committee: The Finance Committee met – Pam Hively offered an update.

1)  There was a motion to utilize donated funds to pay the fiscal fee for handling new funds that become available to Council via an MOU with Systems Partners when necessary.

2)  There was a motion to enter into an MOU with PVADAMH to utilize respite funds for OHMAS to serve families in need as determined by FCSS review committee.

Executive Committee: Nick Tatman - Executive Committee approved three new members: Phil Reichelderfer, Debbie Wippert, Terri Scott

Ohio Trust Fund: Nick Tatman - OCTF is broken into regions rather than counties; Pickaway is in a group of 13 which has 17.6 million dollars for prevention of child abuse.

ECC Committee: Donna Solovey – Reviewed ECC’s goals for next year.

FCSS Review Committee: Marie Wilbanks – Reviewed processes and cases to ensure compliance.

Program Reports

Help Me Grow: Aimee Roberts – Offered overview of HMG and its relationship to FCFC; the program is moving under Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. Early Intervention is moved to a reimbursement model after quarterly reports are submitted.

Teen Task Force: Marie Wilbanks – Summer concert series was a success but could use additional partners. Peer-advocacy programs are beginning in Logan Elm and possibly Teays Valley or Circleville. TTF is prepared to support the new Teen Center which opens in October.

BREATHE: Vicki Pierce – Hosted a successful Kinship Conference with ten families participating. Trauma Informed Care training was conducted for approximately 40 people. November 3rd will host Every Moment Counts training; November 6th will host Spotlight on Families. Teen Center at YMCA opens on October 25th, targeting children ages 13-16.

Connections: Kim Martin – Currently has seven mentors (six paid mentors) who are serving 22 youth. Most receive funding through BREATHE or FCSS.

FCSS/ Team: Kim Martin – 40 youth are currently served who are eligible via multi-system use. The program is currently manageable in size.

Presentation

Lindsey from the Family and Youth Law Center presented information about legal resources for at-risk youth. She explained the requirements for participation in the program and passed along contact information ().

AGENCY UPDATES:
Roxan Sigmon – There are seven open interviews including positions for Chipotle, which offers tuition reimbursement.
Joy Ewing – Pickaway County JFS: The JFS building will have available parking for Pumpkin Show. This fundraiser provides money for various programs who participate in monitoring parking.
Elaine Miller – Health Department: Agency is going through accreditation.
Andrew Binegar – PICCA: PICCA will have a booth at the Pumpkin Show. Money raised is used for the Toys for Tots program. Fresh produce is available on the second and fourth Thursday of the month and is available at four food pantries and one soup kitchen.
Josh Riffle – Village Chapel Church: The Way Skate Park is available for free to youth. Village Chapel also offers a free meal on Saturday to anyone interested. There are debt services help and classes as well.
Dana Berryman – Parent Advocate: Added five representatives although none are from Pickaway County. If anyone is interested, they should contact.
Teratia Welch – Berger Hospital: Friday from 6:30 – 8:30 Berger is hosting Break for Breakfast. There will be Berger Baby Photos on Tuesday – Friday of Pumpkin Show at the Pavilion. Berger is sponsoring a presentation with the Pickaway Addiction Coalition from 7:00 – 9:00. Information is available on the resource table.
Niki Shaner – Teays Valley Schools: Teays Valley is trying to coordinate with the Ashville area for families in need at Christmas. She is concerned about families who might be double-dipping but there is no system to track this.
Karin Barr – Trellis: Trellis provides free training for women coming out of abuse. The organization is faith-based and offers GED classes. There will be a fundraiser on Friday of the Pumpkin Show.
Mike Hardesty – Parent Rep: The wood pantry is available this winter for anyone in need. It typically gives away 100 cords of wood a year, all of which is donated.
John Ankrom – Architect: Is running for County Commissioner and wanted to learn about agencies within Pickaway County.
Debbie Wipert – PRCTC: The program is expanding into Westfall Middle School with “Pathways”. This targets 6th -8th graders to begin career discussions.
Bruce Rickerd – PICCA: PICCA will offer a shuttle from Pumpkin Show for $5 a car load, Wednesday – Saturday. All agencies are encouraged to attend the Transportation Coordination Committee which is trying to meet the needs of agencies in the area.
Jennifer Murphy – Hopewell Health: The organization is going into additional schools to provide services to students.
Debbie Peters – Haven House: Haven House is seeking volunteers for Christmas to support residents.
April Brown – Elizabeth’s Hope: The organization will have its diaper-changing stations at the Pumpkin Show again this year.
