STUDENT COUNSELING COMMITTEE

The Students Counseling Committee is being constituted at the college level comprising the following faculty members of all Departments.

The Functions of the Committee:

1. To set up a professionally staffed confidential Student Counseling Cell, to provide assistance to students having personal, emotional, social and academic problems.
2. To ensure that the Student Counseling Cell has a team of experienced female and male faculty members acting as Counselors, who are accustomed to helping students from many different back grounds and cultures and with a wide range of personals issues.
3. To provide the counseling service free to all students of the college and to make it available throughout the year.
4. To ensure that a counselor seeks to help the students to focus on and understand more clearly the issues that concerns him/her. By respecting his/her own values, choices and lifestyles; the counselor can work together with the student towards making choices or changes that are right for him/her. Sometimes, it is found that the students get depressed because of their failures most of which could be attributed to their lack of confidence and inhibitions.
5. To address specific problems relating to studying, often in more structured apprach focusing on improving study skills.
6. To implement proper programmes for Students Guidance and Mentioning at the department level. Individual faculty members handling a subject are volunteered to assist students who need extra help to maximize their learning outcomes in the subject being taught. Faculty members act as mentors to provide individual or small group of student’s instructions outside of class lessons to meet an immediate learning need.
7. To ensure that regular tutorial classes are conducted in all the subjects in order to understand the topics taught in a much simpler way and to develop problem solving skills.
8. To interact with English Department faculty members to offer special programmes to improve and enhance English Communication skills of the students coming from rural background to fare well in examinations and for future challenges.
9. To encourage the students to do quality work, creative problem-solving, promote self-learning, self-improvements and communication and help the students to reduce mistakes there by creating positive attributes throughout the study period at the college.

INTERNAL COMPLAINT COMMITTEE

In order to ensure transparency in imparting technical education, admissions and with paramount objective of preventing unfair practices and to provide a mechanism to innocent students for redressal of their grievances JIMS Greater Noida has constituted Internal Complaint Committee.

Charges of the Committee for grievance of the students:

1. Making admission contrary to merit determined in accordance with the declared admission policy of the institute;

2. Irregularity in the admission process adopted by the institute;

3. Refusing admission in accordance with the declared admission policy of the institute;

4. Withhold or refuse to return any document in the form of certificates of degree, diploma or any other award or other document deposited with it by a person for the purpose of seeking admission in such institution, with a view to induce or compel such person to pay any fee or fees in respect of any course or programme of study which such person does not intend to pursue;

5. Demand of money in excess of that specified in the declared admission policy or approved by the competent authority to be charged by such institution;

6. Breach of the policy for reservation in admission as may be applicable;

7. Complaints of alleged discrimination by students from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, OBC, Women, Minority or Disabled categories;

8. Nonpayment or delay in payment of scholarships to any students that such institution is committed, under the conditions imposed by AICTE, or by any other authority;

9. Delay in conduct of examinations or declaration of results beyond that specified in the academic calendar;

10. On provision of student amenities as may have been promised or required to be provided by the institution;

11. Denial of quality education as promised at the time of admission or required to be provided;

12. Non transparent or unfair evaluation practices;

13. Harassment and victimization of students’ including sexual harassment; and

14. Refund of fees on withdrawal of admissions as per the AICTE instructions from time to time.

All aggrieved students, their parents and others may henceforth approach to the Internal Complaint Committee of the institution. The committee shall comply with the regulations of the AICTE being made from time to time.

Charges of the Committee for Food Safety:

The Food Committee meets to discuss different aspects of campus dining. As topics arise, the Food Committee makes suggestions for improvements that can be made in those areas. Recent topics this group has discussed include pricing of food, quality of ACDC food, and increasing healthy eating options at Vassar

Charges of the Committee For Safety:

1. To conduct meeting regularly to discuss the safety and security measures taken at the college campus.
2. To make sure that all the labs in the college are provided with handy Fire Extinguishers, smoke detectors and First Aid Kits.
3. To ensure that fire extinguishers and smoke detectors in all the labs are checked periodically once a month for proper operation.
4. To make all faculty and the technical staff of the departments fully aware of the safety norms being adopted.
5. To ensure that Safety procedure instruction sheets are provided in all the labs and the Lab instructions make sure that every students goes through these procedures at the beginning of every semester.
6. To conduct regularly an inspection tour of all the department labs to find out the availability and functioning of all the essential items in the lab as far as the safety and security measures are concerned.

INDUSTRY –INSTITUTE CELL

1. To organize co-ordinate Campus Placement Program to fulfill its commitment of a job to every aspirant.
2. To establish linkages between the industry, the faculty and the Students.
3. To organize training programs in association with the corporate.
4. To conduct training classes for students by trainers.
5. To conduct familiarization tours for corporate to the institute so that they can choose how to work together for mutual benefit.
6. To conduct awareness programs for the students in the form of workshops, seminars & conferences in association with institutions & corporate.
7. To arrange special lectures by executives from corporate & institutions.
8. To conduct value added programs like the Personality Development and Communication skills workshops.
9. To arrange Aptitude Test for Students & organize Group discussions.
10. Organize Entrepreneurship Development Programs.
11. To arrange industrial visits for students & faculty.
12. To implement industrial projects of mutual interest & allocation of in-house final year projects for students.
13. To make available updated database & job profile of the companies & thus help each students analyze and choose company of his/her interest.
14. To assist TPO during the campus visit of companies for placements to extend warm reception & to provide required stationary items, food and accommodation.
15. To mail the required data and update information of students to various companies.

ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE

In view of the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in SLP No. 24295 of 2006 dated 16-05-2007 and in Civil Appeal number 887 of 2009, dated 08-05-2009 to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging, antiraggaing committee has been constituted compring following faculty members :

Functions of the Committee

1. To curb all menace ,including any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student or asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student, with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student.

2.To maintain & enforce strict discipline in the college campus.
3.To spread anti-ragging campaign throughout the student community by giving full publicity to the punishment for ragging through suitable posters around college campus and hostel premises.
4.To keep continuous watch and vigil over ragging so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.
5. To monitor the movement of the students in the college and prevent loitering around in the Corridors, near Canteen, Mess and Hostel premises during the college working hours.
6. To form squads to make surprise visits to identified ragging prone areas – Bus-stops, Hostels, Canteen, Mess areas, Student waiting rooms, Vacant class rooms, and also Play grounds. Strict surveillances should be maintained in such locations for prevention of ragging.
7. Create awareness among students that ragging is a reprehensible act which does no good to anyone and by simultaneously generating an atmosphere of discipline by sending a clear message that no act of ragging shall go unnoticed & unpunished.
8. Interact with new comers and take them in confidence by apprising them of their rights as well as obligation to fight against ragging and generate confidence in their mind that any instances of ragging to which they are subjected or which comes in their knowledge should forthwith be brought to their knowledge and shall promptly be dealt with while protecting the complainants from any harassment by perpetrators of ragging.
9.. No person who is not a student of this college should be allowed to enter the premises of the college or hostel without obtaining prior permission of the Principal, Student ID card should be checked regularly.
10. Committee should meet regularly once a week to review the prevalent situation & evolve effective measures to combat ragging.
