BHS Girls Soccer Booster Club Meeting Minutes Annual Business Meeting July 21, 2014

Meeting was called to order.

  1. Attendance: Deb Shepard, Joan Timmons, LanayaStangret, Cindy Proulx, Erik Ninnemann, Tammy Ninnemann, Lori Bosley, Deb Brown.
  2. Minutes from previous meeting: Minutes from May 12, 2014 were accepted. Timmons motioned and Stangret seconded.
  3. Treasurer's Report was given by Deb Shepard.

Account Balance for 7/21/14 $27,425.82

Revenue Report: Tag Construction Donation $500.00 total revenue $500.00

Expense Report: Camp T-Shirts $1,208.62,Screen Print $579.00 total expenditures $8,321.85.

  1. Committee Updates:
  1. Buffalo Wild Wings Fundraiser is set for August 11 from 7pm-10pm. BWW has agreed to donate 10% of the food sales to the program. Coaches and Booster Club representatives will be on hand from 7pm – 10pm for a meet and greet. We are looking into acquiring apparel to sell to parents and fans and giveaways.
  2. Yogurt Sundae: Lori will follow up with them to set up a fundraiser. We will look at possibly having a designated day for donations from sales. If not able, we would do a month long or season long promotion for a lower rate of donation.
  3. Cookie Sales will kick off on Monday, August 18.
  4. Publicity: Jackie sent an update for the Ad sales. She has sold a corporate ad to Summit Orthopedics. Scott sold a corporate ad to Tag Construction. Jackie still has a few voicemails waiting for final commitment with ads possibilities from Majestic Oaks and Clives.

Deb Brownwill send an email to the families for the $20 “Throw In” Personal Ad opportunities. Submissions will be due August 19.

Game Program — is currently in a holding pattern until we get the photos done. It will be an 8 page dual boys/girls program.

Senior Program — I have a form I can send to Cindy/Becky for the info they need to have the girls fill out.

Senior Banner — Banner of Seniors that will hang on the fence. I will take the full body shots and have made. (I also do one for the Senior Boys as well)

David Banks Photography — A requestedshot list of the photos we need for the program will be provided to them. Let me know who coordinated the photography date so I can send them the list.

  1. Season Updates:
  1. Ball Chasers: Monica and Lori are coordinating.
  2. Youth Sponsor Night: Tag Construction is sponsoring that evening with a $500.00 donation. We are looking at using the money to create a fun atmosphere for the youth and to have giveaways. We are also looking at collecting used equipment to donate to underprivileged youth.
  3. Fans in the Stands: Deb Shepard will be purchasing items for a Toss-a-Ball activity for the home game half time events. Balls will be available for purchase at the beginning of the game up to halftime for $1 each. At half time, participants will toss their ball to the target on the field. The ball closest will win a prize.
  4. Carbo Load: Lori will look into using the cafeteria staff to provide the food for the all teams event on Monday, August 18.
  1. Post Season Updates:
  1. Banquet: Amy Leger has the banquet set up for Sunday, November 2 at Blaine Brookhall.
  2. Memory Book position is open to volunteers.
  1. New Business:
  1. Warm Ups: Scott ordered 35 sets for incoming Freshman and others who may need.
  2. Coaching positions filled: Freshman: Kara Jolly and Morgan Kopka, JV: Andy Brook, B Squad: open
  3. Field Rental: Scott was able to secure 2 hours at the NSC for offseason i41 training for Nov- Apr. The expense will be $6,000.00. Email will be sent out for vote as there was not a quorum at the meeting.
  4. Team Managers: Beth Durbin and possibly Brianna Timmons.
  5. Sports Photography: We are looking at contracting with a person who is trying to start a photography business to take action photos of the seniors. Email will be sent out for vote as there was not a quorum at the meeting.
  6. Miscellaneous money increase request for the season expenditures. Email will be sent out for vote as there was not a quorum at the meeting.
  7. Purchase of World Cup balls. Email will be sent out for vote as there was not a quorum at the meeting.
  8. Communication to the parents of information for the upcoming season will be sent out this week.

5. Our next meeting will be Monday,August 18, 2014 after the all teams carbo load.

“The purpose of the Blaine High School Girls Soccer Booster Club is to promote the sport of soccer for the students of Blaine High School…[and its] objective is to support the long term growth of Blaine High School Girls Soccer Program and to insure that the students have proper training, equipment, and facilities in which to learn and compete. The goals include but are not limited to 1) provide support, 2) develop a sense of pride and tradition for the students and parents, 3) promote and publicize the high school soccer program in the community, and 4) recognize accomplishments.”
