Take Highway 401 west following all signs for 410N/ Brampton .Take Exit 344 toward Brampton and merge onto Highway 410N.Continue onto Highway 10N/Hurontario Street. Turn left to stay on Highway 10N (signs for 10N & 89W) then turn right to continue on 10N to Owen Sound (signs for Dundalk). Continue to follow 10N to Berkeley. Turn right onto Side Road 60. Continue onto Concession Road 10. The earthdog site is on the left.

Our site for the 2013 National Specialty is Harrison Park in Owen Sound, Ontario.For campground reservations go to The Campground Features: 108 sites with hydro & water hookups, firewood, ice, Riverfront & shaded sites, flush toilets & showers, Dumping station and laundromat.

Order of Judging: The order of competing shall generally be the order that entries are received with the exception of multiple entries from the same handler which will be separated whenever possible. Time and entries permitting, dogs that are entered in Introduction to Quarry and Junior Earthdog will be scheduled to run in Introduction to Quarry before Junior Earthdog. A running list will be posted at the site.
Schedule: The Secretary’s table will be open for check in from 7.30 am. on August 9. Gate entries and move ups accepted at the Secretary’s table up to one hour before scheduled starting time for each class.

Attention Foreign Exhibitors: Please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian dollars. Due to consistently fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted. If you pay by personal American cheque, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Do not write “Payable In Canadian Funds” or “At Par”. This is not acceptable and will not clear the bank. To simplify the process, we urge you to buy bank drafts or money orders payable in Canadian funds.
Border Crossing: A valid rabies certificate is required to bring a dog into Canada. Government regulations require a certificate and it must be dated at least 30 days prior to entry into Canada. Canadian Food Inspection Agency regulations can be viewed at:
Event Registration Number (Foreign Born/Owned Dogs): For the purpose of entering CKC events to obtain CKC titles, individual registration is not required for foreign born/owned dogs. Foreign exhibitors may apply for an ERN (Event Registration Number). This number MUST be applied for within 30 days of entering first CKC event to avoid cancellation. Exhibitors may submit a photocopy of the dog’s foreign Registration Certificate and the appropriate fee ($56.70 Canadian funds) along with the completed application form. The form can be downloaded from or orderedfrom the CKC Order Desk at 1-800-250-8040.
Regulations: It is the responsibility of the exhibitors to be familiar with the rules pertaining to the event in which they are competing. Copies of the CKC Earthdog Test Rules & Regulations are available from the Canadian Kennel Club at 1-800-250-8040.
CKC Regulation 15.7: It shall be the duty and obligation of the event-giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer or any participant at an Earthdog test held under these regulations, is not subject to indignities. The Earthdog Test Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred.
Validation of Entries: All participants are required to fill and sign the Earthdog Participation Agreement on the reverse of the entry form. Entries submitted without this agreement filled in and signed will be refused participation in the tests.
Move Ups: Move ups accepted at the Secretary’s table up to one hour before scheduled starting time for the class.
Bitches in Season: Bitches in Season shall NOT be eligible to compete in the Test. When a bitch comes into season after entry of the bitch has been submitted to the Test Secretary, a veterinarian’s certificate, certifying that the bitch was in season within the 10 day period preceding the test, must reach the Test Secretary on or before the date of the Test. The test giving club must refund the entry fee and listing fee.
Awards and Prizes: Qualifiers in the Introduction to Quarry test will receive flat ribbons. Qualifiers in the Junior, Senior and Master Earthdog tests will receive rosettes.
BORDER TERRIER CANADA
ROOM RESPONSIBILITY POLICY

Border Terrier Canada (BTC) has adopted the following rules in order to insure that its members and their dogs will be welcome at hotels in the future.
Any individual attending a Border Terrier Canada (BTC) sanctioned event and staying in a hotel, motel, inn or campsite/fairground has the responsibility of leaving that room or campsite exactly as found. This includes picking up after dog(s) on the grounds. Anyone who damages a room or campsite/fairground and does not report the damage to the hotel/campsite/fairground management, and make immediate restitution or arrangements to do so within a period of time agreed upon by the management, will be subject to any or all of the following actions by the BTC Board of Directors.
- May be banned from showing at the next BTC sanctioned event(s).
- May be subject to CKC sanctions.
- Membership in the BTC may be terminated and may not be allowed to be reinstated.
Damages shall be defined as:
- Flea infestation, urine, defecation and/or any damage to hotel/campsite/fairground property (walls, bedspreads, carpets, drapes, etc.).
- Any verified complaint by the host hotel/campsite/fairground.
- Any verified complaint by a BTC member.
BTC Room Regulations:
- All dogs shall be crated and quiet when left alone in a room. Noisy dogs shall be quieted upon request, even if this means the owner/handler must stay in the room with the dog.
- Individuals will be expected to immediately report any damage by dogs or themselves to the hotel or campsite/fairground management, and to assume complete financial responsibility for those damages.
- No bathing or grooming will be allowed in rooms. A grooming room will be available whenever possible.
- Dogs are to be allowed on hotel furniture/beds ONLY if the furniture is covered with protective covering provided by the owner/handler.
- All owners/handlers will take preventative measures to assure that their dogs are free of fleas, mites, intestinal parasites and other communicable diseases prior to arriving at the hotel/campsite.
THIS POLICY WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE SPECIALTY PREMIUM LIST WHENEVER POSSIBLE WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT SIGNING THE ENTRY FORM ALSO INSURES COMPLIANCE WITH THIS POLICY. THE POLICY WILL ALSO BE INCLUDED IN ANY SPECIALTY PACKET MAILED TO MEMBERS AND WILL BE DISTRIBUTED WITH ANY SPECIALTY HOSPITALITY PACKETS. ALL INDIVIDUALS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLY.
