Forest Park Band booster meeting minutes

Call to order at 1805

President: No old business. Tracy attended the PTSO/athletic band boosters meeting. Inquired on fundraising options for band. We may sell non band items at the games but need prior approval from Brian Parke, the athletic director.

PTSO – Holiday store – October 28th. Offering free table/stand for Band boosters to sell band items.

April 2018 Color March Rock & Roll Theme – can make 20% of profits.

Band camp – new times 1-9 pm

Props for the show – Mark Chandler and John Wilson could use help painting by 8/19. Practice assembly prior to 8/25. Please contact Mark at 240-375-4064 if you can help out.

Kick off/picnic – August 19th, food assignments will go out.

TAG Day- our biggest fundraiser. Cheryl and Mike Downey are the coordinators.

Board Members/Members at Large:

We still could use a VP, new member coordinator and Public affairs volunteer. Please reach out if interested.

Fundraising: Denise Hummel is doing a clothing drive. On August 17th please drop off linens and clothes from 1200-1300 in the FP parking lot or contact Denise at 913-680-9455.

Ingrid is busy planning and the first car wash was a great success!

New Member coordinator: Our 8th grade night will be October 13th. A brief, busy position to help recruit our local feeder schools for FP band.

Receptions: Kim Cox and Sabrina Chandler: busy with upcoming picnic.

Spirit Wear – Teresa Zencuch. Due to significant issues with non payment, no extra shirts to be ordered without prior payment. Square available for payment.

Volunteer coordinator: Jax Couch, new system for volunteer needs. Using sign up genius this year. A board may be posted as well for upcoming events.

Uniforms: Scarlett Abila – kids receive 2 shirts, need all white shorts, no pockets, white underwear and socks. Can check Wal-Mart or Kmart.

Concert attire: Tami Johnson. We need to find a replacement for her sewing talents and attire. This is her last year.

We will continue to utilize CHARMS for now.

Brian Parke, Athletic Director, kindly attended our meeting. He wants to work with our booster organization. Blue cards continue to be very important before students can participate with school events.
