SHAC minutes from September 19, 2017 were read and approved.

District Reports
Nutrition/Leona Callaway: Mrs. Callaway informed the committee that the TDA extension waiver had been applied for and when we were accepted we would continue feeding all students breakfast and lunch for free through the end of October. Because of the waiver for all students eating free, there has been an increase in the amount of students eating both breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria. Also, National School Lunch week is October 9-13. Students will receive trinkets during the week to bring awareness of NSLW.
Physical Education/Lin Ellis: Mr. Ellis will be bringing the Concussion Plan to the next SHAC meeting. Carrie Brinkley reported that elementary PE will be doing a Christmas Program the day we get out for Christmas break. Program has been budgeted per Connie Griffith.
Counseling, psychological, social events/ Arlene Robinson: Nothing to report
Family and Community Involvement/Tamara Harrison, Cindy Shoemaker, Ethel Rogers: Tamera Harrison reported that Red Ribbon Week will be combined with Bully Prevention Week. Leo the Lion will be here on October 18 and Tyler Co Sherriff will be here October 27. A testimonial speech about recovering from drug abuse will be given by the Wrotham’s from Port Neches. Carrie Merritt is working on getting the Shattered Dreams Drug program brought to our school.
Health Education/Stormie Hubbard: Nothing to report
Healthy and Safe Environment/Kim Parker, Stephanie Miller, Pam Hutto: SEE ADDENUM
Health Services/Pam Hutto: Nurse Pam will be contacting Who We Play For to offer Cardiac screening for students, but especially the athletes. SEE ADDENUM

- SISD Bully Prevention
- Automated External Defibrillator Procedure and Guidelines
- SISD 2017-2018 SHAC WELLNESS PLAN was reviewed and approved.
Addendum
Health Services/Pam Hutto- Walgreen’s of Silsbee will be hosting a flu clinic October 10th, 2017. Faculty, students, and community will be invited and notified.
Healthy and Safe Environment/Kim Parker, Stephanie Miller, Pam Hutto: Emergency Drills will be carried out monthly.
