Program Report

Sorors, Happy Belated Mother’s Day! We have been very busy over the last four months and I thank you for your service. As I reflect back I can’t help but to recall the words to the song by Mahalia Jackson, ‘If I Can Help Somebody.’ “If I can help somebody, as I pass along, If I can cheer somebody, with a word or song. If I can show somebody, how they’re travelling wrong, Then my living shall not be in vain.” We’ve volunteered at the 5K Run for Lungs, in the process of collecting school supplies for children returning to school in August, and preparing for our 2nd mini EYL summit.

As a reminder Mid-Western Region is asked to gather crayons, rulers (English & metric), markers, highlighters, glue sticks and calculators for the 66th Boule for school supplies. All supplies will be distributed to the Youth Summit participants. The purpose for the Youth summit will provide participants with information that raises awareness, enhances their knowledge on topics pertinent to youth and motivate self-development. All items will be shipped to Charlotte, NC between June 23-28 only. Soror, once we collect these items at our June meeting I will shipped for the chapter.

We were asked to complete the EYL Summit Reporting and that was due on May 1st and I submitted on April 23th.

Sorors, let’s remember that all we do is newsworthy, so please do not forget to write an article for Soror Antonia to submit to the Ivy Leaf. Our effort towards the community are worthy of PRAISE! Our Founders’ would be proud. But there is always room for GROWTH!
