Orientation Week for First Semester Students
05 - 10 October 2015
(for Medicine 01 & 02/10/2015)
Dear New Students,
We would like to wish you a very warm welcome to Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg!
We are delighted to be able to admit you to our university and would like to take this opportunity to wish you success during your studies here.
To make it easier to settle into their studies, traditionally during the week before the semester begins our university offers new students the opportunity to find out more about the course they have chosen and the basic study framework.
They have the chance to acquaint themselves with their faculty, the lecturers who work there and students in other year groups, as well as to obtain important subject-specific information on the curriculum and planning their studies and timetable, plus the range of services offered by our university's central facilities.
The events taking place are summarised in this programme. If you have any questions about the orientation week schedule or the start of your course, please contact our General Student Advisory Service colleagues.
Registration Ceremony 2015
The 8th of October 2015 is the day! New students at OVGU are welcomed at the start of their studies during the registration ceremony. The ceremony takes place in the university library on the main campus. If you wish to take part in the registration ceremony, you are asked to register here. The Opportunities Fair is where new students can find out about student initiatives and societies as well as the university's cooperation partners.
The registration ceremony will be followed by live music, sport and dancing as well as interviews with interesting personalities from the university. The whole event will be presented by our university radio station, Guericke FM.
At 10 pm the First Semester Party kicks off at Festung Mark.
