ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAMS

PART 1 GENERAL

1.01DESCRIPTION

A.This project was designed to comply with the New York State Energy Code.

B.This project was designed to qualify for incentives under New York State Utility Companies Energy Rebate Programs.

C.Provide project components listed in paragraph 1.03 A. in accordance with requirements of the Energy Rebate Program.

1.All motor efficiencies shall meet or exceed minimum listed EER or SEER.

2.All lighting fixtures listed i.e. lamps and ballast shall meet or exceed program requirements.

1.03APPLICABILITY

A.The following project components qualify under the rebate programs:

EDIT OR ADD TO EQUIPMENT AND ASSOCIATED SPECIFICATIONS SECTIONS AS APPROPRIATE. NOTE: GENERALLY THIS APPLIES TO ALL MOTORS ABOVE 1HP, ALL FLUORESCENT FIXTURES AND HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE FIXTURES.

1.04PROCEDURAL RESPONSIBILITY

A.Notify Utility Company having jurisdiction of this project.

1.Utility Company may require pre-approval for rebate application.

2.It is the Contractor’s responsibility to contact Utility Co. as soon as possible after contract award and determine if pre-approval is required.

3.It is the Contractor’s responsibility to comply with all Utility Co. requirements to insure maximum rebate.

B.Obtain from Utility Company a minimum of 2 copies of the latest edition of their Energy Rebate Program. Deliver one copy to the Director’s Representative.

C.Immediately notify the Director’s Representative of any additional project components that qualify under the Energy Rebate Program.

D.Complete the application form for the Energy Rebate Program and submit to the Utility Company.

1.Also send 2 copies of the application form to the Director’s Representative.

2.Proof of this submission to the Utility Company is required before Contract 50 percent payment will be made.

1.05SUBMITTALS

A.Waiver of Submittals: The “Waiver of Certain Submittal Requirements” in Section 013300 does not apply to project components listed in this Section.

B.In addition to submittals required by a specific Section, submit with the product data sheets the applicable section of the Utility Company’s Energy Rebate Program for that component.

1.06PAYMENT

CHECK A. WITH ELECTRICAL DESIGN, METHOD OF PAYMENT MAY CHANGE PERIODICALLY.

A.The Utility Company Rebate will be paid to the State of New York in manner designated by the Director’s Representative.
