O R D E R

In exercise of the powers conferred by Central Government vide Notification no. S.O.1352(E) , & 1521(E) dated 24-8-2006 & 14.9.2006 respectively of the Ministry of Labour and in furtherance of these aforesaid notifications the undersigned hereby revises the rates of Variable Dearness Allowancess ordered vide this office order No.1/2(2)/2007 –LS II dated 2-4-2007 on the basis of the average consumer price index number for the preceding period of this month ending on 10-6-2007 reaching 593.41 from 581.83 (base 2001=100) for industrial workers as under and directs that this order shall come into force on the 1-10-2007.

I) RATES OF V.D.A FOR EMPLOYEES EMPLOYEED IN EMPLOYMENTS IN Gypsum Mines, Barytes Mines , Bauxite Mines , Manganese Mines , China Clay Mines, Kyanite Mines , Copper Mines, Clay Mines, Mangnesite Mines , White Clay mines , Stone Mines , Steatite Mines ( including the mines producting soap stones and Talc), Ochre Mines, Asbestos Mines , fire Clay Mines, Chromite Mines, Quartzite Mines, Quartz Mines , Silica Mines, Graphite Mines, Felspar Mines,Laterite Mines , Dolomite mines , Rock Phosphate Mines, Hematite Mines, Marble and Calcite Mines, Rock Phosphate Mines,Hematite Mines, Marble and Calcite Mines, Uranium Mines , Mica Mines , Lignite Mines, Gravel Mines , State mines and Magnetite mines would be as under:-

The Classification workers under different categories and the classification cities under different areas will be same as in the notification referred to in para 1 amended from time to time. The present classification of cities into areas A,B & C enclosed at Annexure 1 for ready reference.
