NBHS Class of ‘67 Reunion Planning Meeting Minutes:
Date: Tuesday 6/20/17
Place: Papa’s Dodge
Time: 6:00 to 8:00pm
Attending: Billy, Bruno, Donna, George, Harry, Irena, Karen, Kathy, Leona, Linda, Noreen, Ritchie, Susan, Tony
Old Business: Minutes of previous meeting 5/16/17 were reviewed and approved.
New Business: Venue: Tunxis Plantation:
Susan reported that the invitation will cost $383.84 for 450 and that includes a return envelope with Karen’s address printed on it. She had a sample which was passed around, slightly edited and approved. Image Ink needs 7 days after getting final cut which Susan will do immediately and then let committee know so that a date can be set for mailing. To date we have 424 confirmed graduate addresses. Kathie has confirmed that the New Britain Museum of Art, Industrial Museum and Capitol Lunch are open for visits on the weekend of reunion. George and Bruno will provide the stand and banners to be available for a backdrop for pictures the night of the reunion and the night before. A question was asked about the price of the drinks on reunion night which will be reviewed next meeting.
Entertainment for Reunion Night 9/16/17: No Updates

Pre-reunion Friday Night Party: 9/15/17 Papa’s Dodge 7:00 – 11:00
There will be a planning meeting on Tuesday 7/18 at Papa’s Dodge from 5:00 to 6:00. All school representatives are invited, with the exception of Goodwin Tech where a representative is still being sought.
Reunion Breakfast: Sunday 9/17/17 – 10:00am Back Nine Tavern
Pitchers of Mimosa will be available at cost of committee with extra funds. Cash bar will also be set up for anyone who wants additional drinks.

Harry passed samples of nametags that he made from scanning the yearbook. It was agreed that they looked great! He’s only charging for badge cases and will need info of names attending well in advance to make them up.
Finances:
Karen reported that the balance to date is $589.62 which is last month’s balance of $752.62 minus the expense of 3 year books at the cost of $163.00.
The price of the entire three day event is $107.00 each for NBHS graduates and guests so if the committee has already paid $50.00 in advance then an additional $57.00 is due and checks can be made out and given to Karen so that she can meet upfront needs. Susan will sent the database of graduate info to Karen for cross referencing.
Fun-Raiser:
Saybrook Point Pizza Party! Saturday 7/22/17 -George will need help setting up at 8:30. Coffee and donuts will be available for early arrivers. Oldie’s music will be playing. Parking is free and attendees can choose to walk causeway, fish, pay for miniature golf, buy ice cream, etc.
Saratoga Horse Races: Saturday 8/12/17 – Susan still looking into but it would possibly be $89.00 per person which would include bus, admission ticket, hotdog and soda voucher and a reserved seat. It was discussed that we would charge $94.00 per person and include coffee and danish for the bus. 50/50 raffle on the bus would also raise some funds.
Someone suggested that we also look into another casino trip like last year.
Roundtable Discussion:
A suggestion was made to auction off the signed banner on Friday night and to auction off the remaining two reproduced NBHS class of ’67 yearbooks at the reunion night. One has already been purchased by Donna.
There has been a tremendous interest to all school reunion on Face Book. Tony has put articles in all the local papers. Suggested that different color sharpies be used for school nametags.
Ritchie gave several options for 3 arrangement needed for registration tables and cake table. Still to be decided.
Someone suggested committee getting together periodically after the reunion and having yearly informal events.
Fountain Head with Ken Griffen will be performing at Walnut Hill Shell on 8/7.
