Infancy and Childhood Development Project
The following journal entries will be entered on your class composition books. Throughout the week you will complete each question during class time.
A. Explore the milestones of prenatal development.
B. After the “sonogram”, how did you feel?
C. Explore Jean Piaget’s stages of cognitive development.
D. What is your parenting style? Authoritarian, Permissive, or Authoritative? Define the three. Pick the one you feel you have modeled.
E. Explain Harry Harlow’s famous monkey experiment.
F. Have you encountered any problems?
G. Define Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, rooting-reflex, temperament, maturation, critical period, and imprinting.
H. List and Explain Lawrence Kohlberg’s three stages of moral development.

Monday
You must bring your empty egg. The face must be drawn in. You will not be able to change it later. You must identify it with a name. (1 Grade)
Tuesday
2nd day to bring egg
Baby blanket, bottle, and 3 diapers (one must be on it) (1 Grade)
Wednesday
3rd day to bring egg ; It should be in a “safe” environment.
Baby Birth Certificate (1 Grade)
Thursday
4th day to bring egg
Baby ID card. Must include a REAL PICTURE OF THE BABY!!!(1 Grade)
Friday
5th day to bring egg
A 2 minute video clip of a day in the life of your baby. (1 Grade)
All journal entries are due today. (1 Grade)
Attendance is crucial during this project. If you miss a day the project will be extended for each additional day you are absent.
