Michigan Algebra I & II Courses

Instructions for Teachers whose district is using their own Moodle server

§  You can download the MI Algebra I or II Course zip file from REMC 3-9

o  The site is http://courses.remc3-9.org/

§  Username is: michalg1 or michalg2

§  Password is: michalg1 or michalg2

o  Review the course

o  Follow the download instructions at the beginning of the course

o  If there are issues downloading, please contact Tim Davis at REMC 3-9

§  District technology staff will need to unzip and load the course content on your local moodle server.

§  Technology Requirements:

o  Required moodle components

§  Course Menu Block

§  Moodle Books

§  Moodle Drag Math

o  Required internet access

§  TeacherTube

§  Google Docs - If Google Docs displays “Sorry, we were unable to retrieve the document for viewing,” refresh your browser

You have the course, now what?

§  Free moodle tutorials are available through REMC 3-9

§  Options for courses in Blended Instruction

o  Contact your local ISD for course offerings

o  Michigan Virtual University and LearnPort

§  Managing your course

o  Teachers may “hide” complete modules

o  Teachers may “hide” answer keys

o  Teachers may add additional content

o  Access the grade book by selecting the
“Grades” link in the administration block

o  Enroll Students

§  Have students create a moodle account
(similar to teacher instructions)

§  Document all student user information

§  Have students select your course

§  Have students enter the enrollment key

§  Students can now view all content the
teacher has not hidden

o  The last page of a book is denoted by this image.

Select the “up arrow” to return to the course.

o  To access audio files of text,

select one of these

images.
