Minutes of meeting held on 26.6.17

It was decided that for the FOTOS Coffee mornings we should have a theme with the possibility of guest speakers that can speak to parents and carers about specific issues or give talks about particular topics that parents may be interested in.

Details were discussed about the barbecue on the 7th July. It was decided not to have a band but to just play music but also to hold a raffle and a tombola and plant sale all the same time and manned by the FOTOS volunteers.

The Prom, it was felt was a great success and the students had a brilliant time. We have discussed about holding the prom in school in the future with a theme to keep costs down for the students.

Treasurers Report – HC:

FOTOS were happy to fund the Prom to the tune of £1500

In the deposit account of £6403.30.

In the current account is £9679.91p Some of these funds have also been promised to some other actions, These are £350 for the Locomotion Project. £200 towards the cost of the Year 11 Common Room, £140 for the Garden project within the school grounds. There is also a large amount of money promised to other projects including £5000 towards the costs of the interactive rooms and spaces.

Requests for Funding:

There was a request for funding regarding prizes for the leavers assembly. Requests were made for £10 for four of the Year 11 students who have never received a blue slip in their five years at the school. This was agreed and £10 each was given.

A.O.B:

HC has looked at the costs for the Hydrotherapy pool, lights and other activities within the hydrotherapy pool. A costing was received for £16000 and FOTOS will consider a cost towards this and will discuss this next year. We will be holding a Bags2toSchool event on November 9th.

We have decided to buy a present for Lisa Wood due to her brilliant fundraising activities over the time Matthew has been in school. Altogether, she has raised over £18500 for the school which is an amazing achievement.
