Status of the Course
11.135.1The degree in Speech and Language Pathology is offered at Honours level only. Transfer to the BSc in Human Communication Studies is possible at any time.
Mode of Study
11.135.2The course is available by full-time study only.
Place of Study
11.135.3The course involves placements and lectures outwith the University campusfor which students shall require a valid Disclosure Scotland Certificate.

Progress
11.135.8In order to progress to the second year of the course, a student must have accumulated no fewer than 100 credits from the course curriculum.
11.135.9In order to progress to the third year of the course, a student must have accumulated no fewer than 220 credits from the course curriculum.
11.135.10In order to progress to the fourth year of the course, a student must have accumulated no fewer than 360 credits from the course curriculum.
Final Honours Classification
11.135.11The final Honours classification will normally be based on:
(i)the first assessed attempt at compulsory classes taken in the fourth year together with the first assessed attempt at CM 458 Research Design, Data and Analysis;
(ii)if appropriate, an oral examination.
Award
11.135.12BSc with Honours: In order to qualify for the award of the degree of BSc with Honours in Speech and Language Pathology, a candidate must have accumulated no fewer than 480credits from the course curriculum.
Transfer
11.135.13A candidate who fails to satisfy the progress or award requirements for the degree of BSc with Honours in Speech and Language Pathology may be transferred to the degree of BSc in Human Communication Studies

11.135.31Certificate of Higher Education: In order to qualify for the award of a Certificate of Higher Education in Human Communication Studies, a candidate must have accumulated no fewer than 120 credits from the course curriculum.
