A Message from the President
We have entered a new decade, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all A Happy New Year and one that is filled with Abundant Blessings and Good Health. A warm welcome to all our Members and Non Members to be a part of our community in the year 2010. I would like to thank our former President Michelle D’Souza and her team for all their efforts in keeping this community alive over the years.
For those of you, who do not know me, let me tell you a little bit about myself. My family moved to Long Island, New York in the summer of 2006. When we first came to New York, we didn’t know anyone, neither did we have family here. But soon we got involved with the Goan Association and were given a warm welcome, one that made us feel right at home. Over the last three years, we have made many friends and our kids have great fun at all the events that are held throughout the year with their favorite being the Memorial Day Camp...
I hope this will encourage all of you who have not yet joined the Association to become members and experience the warmth and enriched culture of our Goans. Please check out our website www.nycgoans.com for details.
This year we have a very motivated and enthusiastic team. One that is always looking for ideas and ways to make things better. I would like to give you a brief overview of our Goals and Objectives that we would like to accomplish this year:
1) To reach out to all our Goan friends who are not members and urge them to become a part of our community. Attached is the membership form for your convenience.
2) Encourage our young adults to be more active and involved in our community. We look forward to your ideas and suggestions on how we can make this happen.
3) Reaching out to the less fortunate by organizing a drive at every main event.
