Background
In the framework of the Decent Work Decent Life campaign, SOLIDAR and the Johannes Mickelsoni Centre in Estonia have been organising in 2006 and 2007 2 seminars on Decent Work linking the internal and external dimension of the ILO agenda.
For 2008 the plans are more ambitious: organising a SOLIDAR BALTIC PLATFORM* REGIONAL EVENT. The 3 SOLIDAR Baltic members are mobilised to bring to Riga at least 20 young activists from Tartu (Estonia), 20 young activists from Vilniusto discuss about Globalisation, Decent Work and Migration.
The conference will also be the opportunity for a BALTIC MOBILISATION on the CALL TO ACTION FOR DECENT WORK.
Target: 20 young activists from Lithuania, 20 from Estonia, 50 trade unionists and students from Latvia.
*SOLIDAR BALTIC PLATFORM joined SOLIDAR as full member in 2007. It includes the Johannes Mihkelsoni Keskus in Estonia, the Lithuanian Labour Education and LIZDA in Latvia.
