Course Expectations

Course Description: The primary goal of this course is to understand the major concepts of physical and cultural geography. These concepts will first be covered as independent topics at the beginning of the course and then expanded upon in context as each world region is studied.

During this class I will check my email () at least once times a day if you have questions.

Course Expectations

Students are expected to provide quality work in a timely manor that is void of plagiarism. Students are also expected to contact the instructor if they have questions or concerns.

Students are expected to adhere to minimum course timeline (see next section).

Student Withdraw/Refund

The student must complete Module 1 in the first 10 days of the class (June 24) or he/she will automatically be withdrawn from the class by the instructor. A $30 processing fee will be assessed.

The student must complete at least Module 1,2 & 3 by day 30 of the class (July 24) or he/she will automatically be withdrawn from the class. A 60% refund of the class tuition will be provided.

The class will officially end at midnight August 7th. On this date the final average will be calculated and sent to Mr. Copeland. There will be no exceptions to this deadline.

Materials

The geography textbook will need to be purchased if you do not already have it because it will be used as a major part of the class.

Assignments

The foundation for this course will be the textbook. Chapter questions and quizzes will be completed by hand and online (Quia). Students will be expected to take chapter test and the final exam in the 304 lab when it is open for summer operation. In addition, students will be expected to complete online map quizzes and watch United Streaming videos. There will be online computer projects that must be completed independently and emailed to the instructor. They may also be sent via if the files are too large for the email system.

Grading

50% of the course is minor or daily grades consisting of completed questions sheets or Quia online quiz.

50% of the grade will be chapter test and computer projects.
