Title: Neighborhood Revitalization CoordinatorReports to:Family Services Director

Time commitment: Full-time, 40 hours per weekSalary: $32k to $35k per year + benefits

Alachua Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization operating in Alachua County that, together with future and current homeowners, volunteers, and donors, works towards our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Our core services include our flagship homeownership program, critical home repairs, exterior home preservation, neighborhood revitalization, and our ReStore.

Alachua Habitat for Humanity’s Neighborhood Revitalization (NR) program focuses primarily in the area of Greater Duval, and works closely with resident-driven organizations and community partners to transform and strengthen the Greater Duval area so all who reside there will be able to live and grow to their fullest potential.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Resident-driven organizations:

  • Support the Greater Duval Neighborhood Association (GDNA) and other resident-driven organizationswith organizational development as needed/requested
  • Attend GDNA resident and business collaborators’ meetings and other neighborhood meetings
  • Work with GDNA leadership to develop financial workshops and/or other financial empowerment programs identified by the GDNA in the NR community

Critical Home Repair (CHR) & A Brush With Kindness (ABWK) programs:

  • Establish good working relationships with community partners to help address heirs status issues and other obstacles that potential Habitat clients in the NR area encounter
  • Recruit homeowners in need of CHR, and ABWK services in the NR community
  • Implement Almost Home Program to support potential NR area homeowner candidates for program eligibility
  • Coordinate all aspects of CHR and ABWK projects
  • Recruit and generate support networks for program participants
  • Evaluate potential CHR and ABWK projects and assess need, scope of work, and estimated costs

Administrative/Program duties:

  • Create and manage system to share NR program information with Alachua Habitat staff
  • Develop and implement surveys to measure impact of services rendered
  • Create NR program strategy for long-term support for Greater Duval a second NR community
  • Maintain communication/coordination with Family Services Director regarding potential and ongoing NR projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Experience in community outreach, organizing and/or community engagement
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Construction background is a plus
  • Ability to bring together and communicate effectively with diverse community stakeholders
  • Self-motivated individuals with strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Minimum of three years relevant work experience, preferably in a non-profit
  • Availability for some evening and weekend hours
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
