Job Summary:
Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, the Manager, HR Projects is responsible for the management of HR Strategic projects including managing project budgets, resources timelines, and risks. The HR Project Manager position is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides project leadership and support to the BCLC HR team. This role is critical in executing project initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.
Key Accountabilities:
- Oversees the entire life cycle for specific programs or collection of projects within the HR function. Measures and monitors progress at clearly defined points to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds expectations; balancing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks.
- Collaborates closely with the business, stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams to identify and document detailed objectives, deliverables, requirements, and process flows that might impact strategic direction.
- Works with all levels of management in an effective, proactive, manner. Communicating frequently to provide project status, including project health, issues, risks, and impacts on the schedule including scope change. Anticipates and meets, or exceeds, internal and/or external customer expectations and requirements; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers.
- Supports change management and communication efforts, including the development of communication materials.
- Develops and supports effective communication mechanisms between the project team members including coordinating meetings, maintaining contact information, etc.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- A degree in a related discipline such as Business or Human Resources;
- CPHR designation is an asset;
- PMP designation is an asset;
- 5 to 7 years related experience with progressive levels of responsibility with a minimum of 2 years recent experience;
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Technical Requirements
- Demonstrated competency in customer focus, change & innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building & influencing, talent management, results focus and inspirational leadership;
- Strategic thinker with experience implementing continuous improvement projects;
- Strong business acumen to align both business objectives and HR strategies with corporate goals (Player, People, Public, Profit) to maximize shareholder value;
- Demonstrated team building and leadership skills, and proven ability to motivate, coach and develop others;
- Strong collaboration skills working both within the HR Division and across the organization
- Good understanding and awareness of strategic and tactical business planning and executional issues/processes;
- Demonstrated expertise at a Management level creating and delivering strategic roadmaps;
