Organic sector in the EU is developing rapidly and in the last decade the area of the EU land used for organic farming increased by an average of half a million hectares per year. Currently, the EU has over 186,000 farmings with organic production. Bulgaria is a country with great potential in this direction because of its nature, land clean frm pollution, suitable climate, regulated and approved standards, and because of the image of a traditional producer of quality agricultural products.
