IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- At the end of this message, see the students of the week for each grade. Congratulations!
- During the next 2 weeks we will be taking Round 2 of the Thinklink Testing. Please encourage your child to do their best on the assessment.
- Please continue to practice the multiplication facts at home. We are having mastery club test at least twice a week. 3rd Grade will begin mastery club test this week!
- Please continue to check your child’s agenda book nightly. It has homework, study guide and test information. All math quizzes will be written in the agenda book in advance so your child can study. There will be study guides for Science Quizzes.
- Please go through the papers in your child’s Monday folder. This will give you information about how your child is doing in his content classes.

3 rd GRADE
MATH: The multiplication review quiz we took on Friday will be in the Monday folder. Please sign and return. We will begin mastery club this week. Your child will have 2 minutes to correctly answer 30 multiplication facts. We will begin with 0’s, 1’s, and 2’s this week. We will also introduce strategies for solving the 4’s and the multiplication properties.
VOCABULARY: factor, array, product, repeated addition, sets, commutative property, zero property and identity property
SCIENCE: We will review slow and fast changes on the earth, introduce types of clouds, and the water cycle. We will have a quiz next week. Look for a study guide early next week.
VOCABULARY: Sediment, extinct, volcano, earthquake, landslide, stratus, cumulus, cirrus, evaporation, condensation, precipitation
4th GRADE
MATH:We will begin dividing by multiples of 10 and estimating quotients. We will also introduce the Partial Quotients method of dividing, also known as the Magic Seven.
VOCABULARY: dividend, divisor, quotient, remainder, partial quotient method, identity property, associative property, zero property, commutative property and distributive property
SCIENCE: We will review fast and slow changes on the face of the earth. We will have a quiz next Tuesday. Look for study guide this Thursday.
VOCABULARY:molecules, solid, liquid, gas, chemical weather, physical weathering, erosion, matter
5th GRADE
Math: We will continue using the partial quotient method to solve division problems with 1 and 2 digit divisors. We will also discuss how to interpret the remainder in word problems.
VOCABULARY: Divisor, dividend, quotient, remainder
SCIENCE: We will discuss the layers of the atmosphere. We will have a test next Tuesday. Look for a study guide this Thursday.
