PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for leading and executing a talent development strategy in support of the Greater Omaha Chamber’s economic development strategy and outcomes. Areas of focus includetalent development, retention and recruitment, P-16 education initiative, and workforce development. Consults with business and industry regarding workforce needs in an effort to grow business and industry in Greater Omaha. Convenes and collaborates with economic developers, Greater Omaha Chamber’s Young Professional’s, community leaders, and other key stakeholders to create and leverage resources to impact identified outcomes.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Coordinatethe development and execution of the talent development strategy to grow, recruit, and retain talent in support of the Chamber’s larger economic development strategy. Partner with Director of Talent in managing the planning process, technical expertise, and Volunteer Steering Committee.
  2. Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute talent strategy andinitiatives.
  3. Develop volunteer structure to implement talent initiatives; and recruit and coordinate the volunteers necessary to successfully implement initiatives to achieve results.
  4. Monitor progress towards outcomes and make modifications as necessary to reach desired results.
  5. Lead and oversee coordination and planning of the Young Professional Council, YP Summit, Council of Companies, YP events and communication tools.
  6. Work with Senior Director of Talent to submit and maintain program budget and ensure revenue and fundraising goals are met.
  7. Serve as an ambassador for the Chamber’s economic development efforts, especially focused on talent attraction and retention.
  8. Communicate effectively and manage relationships with community stakeholders and partners, including young professionals.
  9. Assist with other talent related efforts including those specifically associated with Talent Program of Work and other Chamber initiatives.

Education and related work experience

Bachelor’s Degree. A minimum of 3 years of experience working in economic development, communications, marketing or other related fields.
