Dear Parents, Guardians and Students:

Assalamualaikum, Welcome back to a new and exciting school year! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer vacation and are ready to begin 9th grade. This year will be of new learning experiences and discoveries. I am Sister Ayesha Chowdhury and I will be your son/daughter 9th grade Health Class for 2017-2018 school years. While I am your child’s teacher, I am only one part of your child’s academic future. Parent encouragement and involvement along with student cooperation and participation are vital components of educational growth. I am certain that you will agree that a disorderly learning environment will yield very little results of academic achievement. Therefore, I expect positive behavior right from the beginning of the school year in my classroom. Please advise your son/daughter to follow the classroom guidelines:

· Respect: yourself, your classmates, your environment

· Raise: your hand, your confidence, your expectations

· Follow: all directions and school policies

· Choices: we make defines us.

· Accept: the consequences of our actions

Rules:

· No food/drink in class

· No cell phone in class (if seen will be taken away and given back at the end of day)

· No cheating

· No profanity

List of Consequences:

· Students get Verbal Warning

· Teacher/Student Conference

· Student writes an apology letter

· Student attends grade level Academic/ Behavior Meeting and gets a phone call home

· Student gets suspension

Grading:

Test- 40%; Quiz – 25%; Class work and participation – 10%; Homework- 10%, Project -15%
