IOLS: Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills
This training is required for all Venture Crew and Troop leaders who camp with youth to be considered “trained”. Committee members, Chartered Reps, and others interested in knowing “best practices” for camping and outdoor activities with scouts and venture crewshould also attend.
BALOO: This training is needed for any adult leaders of Cub Scout Dens, Packs, or Webelos Dens in order to do overnight camping and be considered “trained”. There is an on-line prerequisite training that sets the stage for covering critical outdoor craft knowledge. Pack Committee members also encouraged to attend.
Combined Training Date:Friday April 20th, 6 p.m. to Saturday April 21st6 p.m.
Cost:$25 includes Friday night snack, Breakfast, Lunch and camping fee. $5 discount for on-line registration before April 13th.
Location:Hell’s Gate State Park- Cottonwood Loop
Gear:Warm clothing, mess kit, scout handbooks, tent, sleeping bag and pad. *over-night camping HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.(See list pg. 2)

- Everyone…. Highly encouraged to take the new Youth Protection(Y.P.) due for all by October!
** The training environment will be fun and interactive . Some trainings will combine IOLS and BALOO participants, and other sessions will be Pack/Troop/Crew specific. There will be multiple experienced Scouters as instructors.

What to bring- IOLS- Basic outdoor clothing and overnight camping gear including tent, personal Mess kit, BSA Boy Scout & Venturing 10 essentials, Scout/Venturing Handbook, BSA Field Book, Copy of the “Sweet 16” of BSA Safety, note pad and pencil, Compass, Knife/hatchet, work gloves, water bottle
BALOO- Basic outdoor clothing and overnight camping gear including tent, personal mess kit, BSA Cub Scout 6 essentials, Dens Specific Handbook, Guide to Safe Scouting, GPS if available, pocket knife, work gloves, water bottle
