1.  Announcements 3:35

2.  Ellen Latorraca to talk about the library services available

  1. edTPA & the Library
  2. different spaces for using smart boards
  3. children’s area has partitions and Katy Casey has used the area for class
  4. Ellen can help with the smart board if students need assistance with the smart boards
  5. Students can borrow ipads from the library
  6. If there are aps you want added let Ellen know and she will see what she can do
  7. Library has a tech person available for questions Sunday through Thursday nights
  8. Video cameras – working with Ellie to have some on reserves
  9. Video Streaming Potential – films on demand is continuing

  11. There are 2 different collections for education and there is a spreadsheet with titles
  12. Perpetual streaming means we own it
  13. The volumes cost – 2nd volume is $1800 for a year’s subscription
  14. This would be in addition to films on demand
  15. Could do it for a year and track what is used and whether it is worth doing this

  28. Looking for someone to help update our policy concerning the tests that the library holds – James Collins will be around to assist with this.

  31. Library will send things for students who are a distance away.

3.  Student Teaching Withdrawal Policy

  1. Currently there is no policy at the college level for withdrawing from student teaching.
  2. The only policy is one where the faculty remove the student for non-performance. We need to create a policy of how we are going to handle students who want to drop on their own decision.
  3. If a student withdraws themselves, we need to define what the expectations would be.
  4. edTPA may add to the numbers who want to withdraw as they start filling out the documents for edTPA and deal with the cost of edTPA.
  5. Once a student has been placed, faculty can listen but if not university supervisor cannot recommend withdrawal. They should be referred back to the appropriate people.
  6. Nomsa and Rowand will refine and distribute it. Faculty will review and vote on at the next meeting.

4.  Schedule Spring 15

  1. Changes have already been made
  2. Shannon make sure all courses are in for grad students or double booked courses
  3. Minors – make sure the times are not conflicting – as much as possible.
  4. If you see something that doesn’t make sense then let Rowand know.

5.  Make sure course proposals are in by end of April

  1. Lana will update and send out again

6.  David and Kelly need to update the co-teaching text book for 458.

  1. Would use this book and make a bound copy that they would purchase
  2. 361 – would like to change book to one that includes more diversity
  3. No objections to either of these books.
