Principal’s Report:
Dr. T is sick so Anne Bilko came in to thank the 6th grade parents for everything they have contributed the last 3 years. The 6th Grade Send Off was great – the students were thrilled.

Voting of the SNIS 2014-2015 PTO Board
A motion was made by Christine Zona to approve the board listed below and was seconded by Tracey Lubas.

After the new board was voted in, Kathleen Lewis thanked Sue Murphy, Tracey Lebas, Sara Brazer, Anne Diamond (and all other 6thgrade parents) who were moving on to the SMS PTO. She also thanked Candace Campbell and Christine Zona for their help this year. Thankfully, if we have questions for Kathleen, we know right where to find her next year!
Candace Campbell then thanked Kathleen for showing her the ropes this past year.
Fun Fest
Date – September 4, 2014
Co-Chairs are Ria Militana and Candace Campbell
The committee will start planning it mid August. Olga Rella has contacted the bounce house rental company about reservations. We typically have a lot of teacher volunteers for this event (including Mack, Nash, Fitz, & McGuire). Flyers will be sent home in the Welcome Back Packets for parents to pre-purchase tickets to the event.

Kathleen will email the NHS to get volunteers to help put the packets together.
Miscellaneous
*School Store clean up will occur sometime over the summer
*The incoming fourth grade parents seem to be very interested in volunteering – we are looking forward to meeting them this fall at our first pto meeting!
Old Business:
6th Grade Send-Off
The sixth graders had a good time despite the rain. There was no ice cream or chips leftover from the event. This year we had the most volunteers ever – there was plenty of watermelon and water donated. All sixth graders received a New Milford cinch sack from the PTO. Yearbooks were also distributed at the event.
6th Grade Legacy Project
The tiles for the project are being put up now by the gym. Next year, Michelle M. suggested that this fundraiser/project be done in the fall – possible gifts for holidays. Someone should talk with the art teachers about this in the beginning of September.
