Ruth Kreuser Music Scholarship

The Ruth Kreuser Music Scholarship is a $500 scholarship designed specifically for students between 12 through 18 years of age, where circumstance finds themineligiblefor participation in any other WFMC sponsored scholarships, grants or monetary awards during the current school year. This award is competitive and intended to go toward an accomplished student who desires to use the scholarship money to further his or her musical education. Please note that students who receive monetary awards through Junior Composers Institute are also eligible for the Ruth Kreuser Music Scholarship. This award cannot be received more than one time.

A) Include a one-page student biography outlining the student’s history of music education and achievements in his or her musical studies. You may also include academic achievements, club participations, sports, service to church or community, etc.
B) The student’s hand written personal letter to the scholarship committee stating the reasons for applying, future music goals, and why the scholarship committee should consider them.
C) Provide a letter of recommendation from the student’s WFMC teacher.
4. Requirement
Applicant’s music teacher must be a current member of a WFMC affiliated Senior Music Club or an Individual WFMC Senior Member in order to be considered for this scholarship. The check for the recipient of this award will be made out to the teacher or campus/school of the student.
