Fèis 2013

Comann nam Pàrant would like to take the opportunity to invite all pupils interested in joining in this year’s Fèis. These sessions are aimed at children from P1 to P5.

Fèis (pronounced feysh) is the Gaelic word for festival. With the support of Fèisean nanGàidheal, Bòrd na Gàidhlig and Alba Chruthachail (Creative Scotland), we will be running our annual festival of Gaelic tradition, music and culture.

The Fèis will be run over the following 3 Saturdays in March –9th, 16th and 23rd. The Fèis will be run from 10.30am to 3.00pm within Meadowburn Primary School. Registration will take place at 10am on the 9thMarch. Children will be required to bring along a packed lunch and some pocket money for the tuck shop.

The cost of these sessions will be £35 for the first child and £25 for each additional sibling (this will cover all 3 days. This will be charged at Registration. If your child cannot manage all three days, they will be charged £15 per session.

The subject content of the 3 days will be the same to provide continuity. Each day will be split into 5 classes of 45 minutes. The subjects (Cuspair) are as follows:

Shinty (Iomain)/Art (Ealain)/Drama (Dràma)/

Penny Whistle (Fìdeag)/Dance (Céilidh)

For information, there will be a family Ceilidh held on the last day of the Fèis (23rdMarch), starting at 7pm in the School Hall. Please see posters for further information.
