KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL #2574/MSGR HARRY MAZURKIEWICZ SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
In the name of Monsignor Harry Mazurkiewicz, this scholarship recognizes those young people who have thrived under the education of Sacred Heart School. Father Harry truly believed in a strong faith based education provided by Sacred Heart School. From the time he arrived at Sacred Heart Church as its pastor in 1956 until his retirement in 2007 educating young people with a quality academic standard and Catholic education was a primary goal. To expand education for many, he entrusted his parish and the Knights of Columbus to assist him in achieving this goal. Many times he gave personally to maintain the quality of education and asked his parishioners and Brother Knights to do the same. Due to Monsignor Harry Mazurkiewicz, Sacred Heart Church and the Knights of Columbus donating time, money and personal resources, Sacred Heart School has produced many top scholars in area schools. Individuals from as far as Austin, Bastrop, Giddings, Smithville, Brenham, Schulenburg and of course La Grange have benefitted from the education they received at Sacred Heart School. The coming together of a man of faith and the faith of his supporters hope to continue developing bright futures for many through this Knights of Columbus Council #2574 Monsignor Harry MazurkiewiczScholarship .
