I.  Meeting called to order at 2:00 PM by Erick Johnston

II.  Review of August’s minutes & approval. Motion to accept, Deb Wakefield. Second, Mary Ann Wiglfield.

III.  Old Business:

a)  After sending an email to all staff about reporting safety concerns, Erick Johnston received emails from two employees. One of the emails was a concern from an itinerant. The safety concern was an issue to be handled with the itinerant’s supervisors. A sub-committee, directly dealing with the safety if itinerants entering homes, was discussed.

b)  The work on the wheelchair accessible ramp is almost completed- Bowman Masonry is waiting to repair the decorative stone when the weather permits.

c)  Erick Johnston spoke with Karen Krise about the bats at Matternville preschool. Mr. Erlich has been contacted to remove the bats.

d)  Tom Rowles will contact Kelly Boob to fix the magnet at the front entrance FOB lock.

e)  There is a new sign in sheet at the reception desk. Everyone that enters the building is now signing in via the reception sign in sheet, fingerprinting sheet, or on a training sign in sheet.

f)  Pearson Vue tester’s are now being asked if anyone is waiting for them and staying on the West Decatur Office grounds.

g)  A monitor was installed at Jeri Webster’s workspace so that she could see visitors before they enter the building.

IV.  New Business:

a)  The “beep” that sounds when the main door can be opened may be too faint for some visitors to hear. There was discussion of purchasing an intercom system for the receptionist to communicate with people entering the building. Deb Wakefield will research intercom systems available through Quill.

b)  The foyer of the building has a musty smell. Ed Millinder set up a dehumidifier to alleviate the issue. Deb Wakefield will order an air freshener for the space.

c)  Erick Johnston will speak to the cleaning crew about shampooing the carpets at the West Decatur office.

d)  It was noted that the handicap parking spaces need to be repainted.

e)  A reminder will be sent to West Decatur office staff reminding them to not allow training participants to prop open exterior doors.

V.  Adjournment at 3:00 p.m.
