Guided the bank’s emerging markets options business through the Mexican peso crisis of 1994 and the ensuing economic convulsion throughout Latin America with profitable results. Recruited a five-member team of traders and moved aggressively into cross-border arbitrage opportunities, generating revenues of $20 million in the first year and making ING Barings the market leader in the business.
