Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility is the local chapter of the U.S. affiliate of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, recipient of the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize for publicizing the dangers of nuclear weapons. For more than thirty years, we have worked to educate the public about the grave human health threats of war and environmental degradation. We are sponsoring this writing scholarship in order to encourage Oregon’s youth to consider their leadership role in promoting a more healthy, just and peaceful world.

Please help us in announcing this opportunity to all 11th and 12th grade students and their teachers, counseling departments, student and parent groups, and school officials. We very much appreciate your help in spreading the word about this scholarship opportunity.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or feedback that your faculty or students may have.

In peace and health,

Kelly Campbell
