JOB TITLE:Site Manager, Transitional Housing

REPORTS TO:Facilities Manager and Supportive Housing Coordinator

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:Non-exempt

TIME COMMITMENT:Full-time

STARTING SALARY: $13.00-$14.00

Position Summary

The Site Manager for Transitional Housing assists with the upkeep of these properties through maintenance work and regular inspections. Under the direction of the Facilities Manager and the Supportive Housing Coordinator, and following approved policies and procedures for covered activities, the Site Manager responds to needs of the various properties.

Essential Functions

  1. Provide upkeep and maintenance of all yards including mowing, trimming trees/bushes, pulling weeds, etc.
  2. Perform weekly home inspections to ensure cleanliness of property and monthly safety inspections.
  1. Ensure residents' compliance with program rules, including documentation and reporting of infractions.
  1. Complete security rounds for various transitional homes and report suspicious activity.
  1. Assist with move in/move out process, including setting up homes, repairs and replacements, and completing move-in/move-out checklists.
  2. Perform light maintenance work including repairs and replacements.
  1. Attend staff meetings.
  1. Provide classes/workshops on small repairs/maintenance projects.

9.Be thoroughly familiar with the policies and procedures guiding the work of this position in particular and the program or department overall. Perform job functions in line with these policies and procedures.

10.Participate in training required by accreditation standards, plus performance and quality improvement efforts.

  1. Attend all in-service trainings and participate in leadership building.
  1. Sort, store, and dispense of donations.
  1. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

NOTE:Offers of employment for this position will be subject to a post-offer physical exam.

1.Must have minimum two years’ experience and proficiency at carpentry, plumbing and general maintenance skills. Must have ability to operate equipment necessary to perform maintenance/repair duties.

2.Possess or obtain upon employment, a valid Californiadriver’s license, insurance and own transportation, preferably a truck.

3.Read, write and speak English at a level required to effectively perform job duties.

4.Pass a fingerprint clearance prior to employment.

5.Be available for scheduled night and weekend hours when needed.

6.Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable.

7.Good problem solving skills. High degree of dependability.

8.Cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with clients and co-workers. Ability to work closely with other employees to ensure positive, constructive environment within the program or department, and throughout the agency.

9.Ability to thrive in a flexible, fast-paced and growth-oriented environment, while maintaining a sense of humor and a positive, solution-oriented approach.

Physical Requirements

1.Meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform assigned duties with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to (50) pounds on a regular basis and occasionally lifting in excess of up to (75) pounds with assistance.

2.Sufficient mobility to stoop, reach, climb, kneel, and move about to perform job duties. Use hands and fingers to feel and grasp.

3.Ability to walk intermittently for up to 6 hours, sit intermittently for up to 2 hours per day with intermittent occasional standing, bending, reaching, squatting, or climbing.

4.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds up a ladder to roof height.

5.Ability to crawl low in tight spaces and walk on roof.

6.Ability to work overhead, on knees, laying on back or stomach for period of time.

7.Ability to operate a pallet jack.

Examples of Specific Job Duties

Plumbing/Painting: Identify and perform basic repair of plumbing leaks or breaks; open clogged lines and drains; replace washers and other minor parts; maintain and monitor septic system; prepare for and apply surface paints, enamels, varnish, lacquer or stain.

Grounds Maintenance: Maintain grounds in clean and orderly manner, including mowing, trimming, weeding, aerating and fertilizing lawns; replace plants as needed and directed; replace broken sprinkler heads; adjust sprinkler system as necessary; maintain grounds equipment.
