Junior Summer Camp
To be held at
Chyverton Park, Zelah, Nr Truro
Wed 6th, Thur 7th, Fri 8th Sat 9th June 2012

Arriving at camp:
Please can members arrive on Wed 6th between 12 & 1pm.
- It would be appreciated if parent/carers would stay to help set up camp, settle in children and horses. Adults to leave camp by 2pm.
- All personal belongings clearly marked, including all horse equipment.
- Any medication to be clearly marked given to the camp leader for safe keeping.
- Each horse will be assigned a stable. Each junior is responsible for their own horse area.
- Areas must be kept clean & tidy at all times. Due to no turn out, stables will be mucked - skipped out twice daily, am pm.
- Hay & straw is provided. If you require shavings or haylage you will need to bring your own.
- Body protectors must be worn for XC phase.
Food:Food will be provided throughout the whole stay. If you have any dietary requirements please make sure you inform us on the form. We aim to have a BBQ on the Friday night. Juniors are asked to help themselves to refreshments at lib.
Meal times
Breakfast: 8 -9am
Lunch: 12.30 -1.30pm
Dinner: 6 – 7pm
- Juniors are asked to help themselves at mealtimes unless served, also to clean up after themselves.
Instruction: All Juniors will receive 1hr 30mins of instruction in the morning again in the afternoon. They will receive flatwork, show jumping & cross country schooling over the course of camp.
- Juniors need to be tacked up & ready for their first lesson at 2.30pm on the day of arrival. This is to assign into groups.
- Juniors will then be able to go for a ride in pairs/small groups through the woods.
- Morning lesson: Group 1: Starts at 9.30am. Group 2: starts at 11am prompt.
- Afternoon lesson: Group 1: Starts at 2pm. Group 2: starts at 3.30pm prompt.
- Juniors are responsible for getting themselves ponies ready on time.
Last day: Sat 9th June
- A mini O.D.E is to be held for all the students to take part in.
- Parents are welcome to come down early help.
- A lunch buffet will be put on from 12 – 1.30pm.
- A small presentation will be held at the end.
- Please ensure that all stable & areas are left clean tidy before leaving.
- Also that you take home all that you bought to camp!!!!!
- Leave camp by 4pm.
Accommodation:Juniors will be staying in tents. Can you let me know if you are bringing a tent & who you will be sharing with? Make sure that you bring plenty of warm bedding.
Payment:
* The cost of Junior camp is £150.
* A deposit of £50 is required to secure a place.
* Payment in full required by the time camp begins.
* No payment, No camp !!

All horses/ponies must be fit & healthy for camp. Please make sure that shoes are in a good order as there is no farrier.
If a vet is required all expense will be met be the owner of ‘said’ horse.
East Cornwall Riding Club accepts no responsibility to any loss, damage, injury to any Junior & horse.
The upmost care will be given at all times to ‘said’ Junior & horse to ensure their health & safety while at camp.
There will be No smoking or alcoholic drinks aloud at camp & any junior found with ‘said’ items, Parents will be contacted and junior will be asked to leave camp.
Juniors are expected to be on their best behaviour & any rudeness will not be tolerated.

- I am not going to list all the clothes you will need, as I feel you are all old enough to pack what is needed. If you think that I have missed anything from the list, can you let me know.
Riding
- Riding hat, must conform to current regulations
- Riding boots
- Body protector (cross country)
- Sufficient riding clothes
- XC colours can be worn for mini ODE XC phase.
- Show/ riding jacket, cream or white jods & shirt required for Mini ODE SJ & dressage
Things the Horses will need
- Clean, safe & correctly fitting tack
- Leg boots
- Plain coloured numnah for mini ODE dressage Phase
- Spare head collars & lead rein
- Spare numnahs
- Hard feed, if required.
- Hay & straw are provided
- If you need haylage or other bedding you will need to supply it yourselves.
