90th ANNIVERSARY REUNION

The Group’s Reunion sub-Committee has already held three meetings and planning is now well advanced. Please visit the web-site to see who has so far been contacted, and advise the G.S.L. of anyone you know who would welcome an Invitation to a unique weekend of Scouting.

Friday 19th October – Outdoor Camp Fire at 7.30 p.m. at the Farm on George V Avenue, lasting anhour. but at the H.Q. if weather is inclement. A mug of Cocoa, biscuits and an apple will be available at the end. Some may wish to reminisce in Queen’s Head in Pinner afterwards!

Saturday 20th October from 2 p.m. – Archives on show, slides, video, and demonstrations from the Sections at the H.Q. Please forward any video recordings of 1st HE to the G.S.L.

At 4 o’clock there will a Cake cutting ceremony.

7 p.m. for 7.30 – A 3 Course meal will be served in Pinner Parish Church Hall at the top of Pinner High Street, where parking is free from 6.30 p.m. The dress code will be smart casual. Upon arrival there will be a complimentary welcome drink from the Group, then a cold Salmon starter already on your table, followed by Chicken breast, Potatoes & Mushrooms, and then Toffee, Chocolate and Praline Tart. Afterwards Cheese and Biscuits, Tea or Coffee will be available, all at a total cost of £35. The evening will end by 11 o’clock.

This Reunion Dinner will be very informal with a minimum of speeches, thus giving everyone more time to mingle and chat.

You are asked to bring your own choice of wine and drink, which not only overcomes any Licensing problem, but you will be able to drink what you like, and at a price that you like! Should you forget or run out very local suppliers will be only too pleased to help you out!

As over 200 people came for Dinner at our 75th Anniversary we are anticipating that this, too, will be very popular, and we are therefore asking for a £10 per head deposit now, which will enable us to plan the catering more accurately. It will also enable us to seat you at a table with your contemporaries. The Group will send a Formal Invitation following receipt of your deposit.

Sunday 21st October - There will be a non-denominational Scouts’ Own Service of Remembrance, Thanksgiving and Re-Dedication at St. Anselm’s Church, Westfield Park,

Hatch End, lasting less than an hour, and starting at noon. During the Service the Group’s Colours will be Blessed. Afterwards there will be the opportunity of gathering back at the H.Q. for a final gossip, a glass of sherry and a last piece of Birthday cake.

We anticipate that this weekend will bring together past and present members of this highly successful Scout Group in what, we hope, will be a very memorable occasion.
