Anders Celsius was born in either January or November in the year 1701. He was born in Sweden in Uppsala.

Early in his life he was excellent at Maths. When he grew up he went to university in Uppsala. Later he was a professor.

Between 1732 and 1736 he stared at the stars all around Europe. After this he travelled to Lapland. He went to an observatory to look at the stars.

In 1742 Celsius invented a good, lovely thermometer He used mercury in freezing water. It went down. When he put the mercury in boiling water it went up. He labelled the hottest temperature 100 degrees and the coldest temperature zero.

Finally when he died in 1744 of TB aged 43 the thermometer was finished.

Celsius was born November 27th 1701. He lived in a small town called Uppsala in Sweden. Then he went to University. When he graduated from university he became a professor. After that he travelled around the world. Then he visited Lapland. Later he went to the observatory. Then he did an experiment because he wanted to do a science project. Celsius put mercury in the glass tube then he put it in the hot water then cold water then he made a thermometer. He was so happy with his life time work inventing the thermometer.

Celsius was born in the small town of Uppsala Sweden in 1701.

He was a famous scientist.

He was a gifted mathematician and studied astronomy at Uppsala University.

Later in 1736 he went to Lapland he looked at the stars.

Then he built an observatory because he wanted to see the stars.

In 1742 he became a scientist. Anders Celsius invented the thermometer. He used mercury as it moved in a tube when it was put into freezing cold water.

300 years ago, there was a scientist called Anders Celsius. Anders was born in a Swedish town of Uppsala, in 1701. He was brought up by his Swedish parents. There is no clue of the date of his birth was on.

As Celsius grew, Anders went to study at Uppsala University, where his dad used to go. At that time Anders Celsius loved Maths. Infact he was a talented mathematician! Once his grades came to his house, he was extremely happy. Celsius had great news of being the professor of astronomy. After a while, Anders stopped being professor of astronomy.

But that wasn’t it, one night Celsius had looked up to the garish, shining stars and had wanted to see the stars from diffrent places. So Anders travelled to many different worlds. That also includes Lapland.

In 1741, Anders Celsius started to create a laboratory for inventions. The year after the lab was finished. Weeks later, Anders started to work on something again. He was working on a miracle. It was called: the centigrade scale! After a while the name was changed, it was then named the thermometer! (The one we use nowadays.)

Later in Anders Celsius’s life, Anders was very happy with his creation. Bet sadly at the age of 43 Celsius had died of TB.

As you know, the thermometer is still available today.

About 300 years ago,a man very famous named Anders Celsius was born in Uppsala,Sweden. He was educated at Uppsala university. He was a gifted mathematician and graduated as a scientist in Uppsala university in 1730.

After, he travelled around Europe and went star gazing in the night with a telescope to look at shiny, golden stars that were shining bright with glory.

Next, he went to the north pole,Lapland precisely to have a travel and a look at what was there. It must have been freezing and extremely cold, he must have seen 1000s of snowflakes. He went with other very accomplished scientists.

Later, he built the observatory that he could use for his cool, epic experiments. its responsible for some of his best, dangerous, exciting experiments.

In 1742, he carried out the thermometer experiment inside his observatory. It was going to change the world by making a piece of equipment that could measure the temperature. He used mercury to measure it because the mercury would react to hot and cold water.

Finally, he created the thermometer. He named the temperature by calling boiling 0 degrees c and called freezing 100 degrees Celsius. But later carl linneaus swapped them around after anders died. The thermometer was not released after his death.

Anders Celsius was a famous scientist. He was born in Uppsala; Sweden 1701 it is unclear when he was born but it was probably January or November. Strangely, his whole family were scientists.

In later years, his education began. At Uppsala collage a man called Carl Linnaeus was a teacher there. Finally, Anders graduated. He never knew he would invent an object that would change the world.

Not a few years later, Anders went on an expedition to observatories around the globe. In 1736, he travelled to Lapland where he discovered that the world was indeed round.

When he arrived back home in Sweden, he went to his lab and did an experiment to measure the precise temperature of hot and cold water.

Celsius’s experiment;

First he chose a liquid that would expand in different temperature so he chose mercury. Then he poured it in a little tube and dipped it in a tub of very cold water and the mercury shrunk as the particles all cramped together and he marked this 100 degrees. Celsius next put the tube in a tub of boiling water and the particles grew because they were hot and he marked this 0 degrees Celsius and he named it the thermometer.

After that he got TB and died but then Mr Linneau swapped the measures around and it was published for all the world to use.

Anders Celsius, who was a well-known scientist, was born in Uppsala, Sweden in 1701. The date of his birth was the 27th of either November or January. Surprisingly, his whole family were all scientists and they all succeeded in their jobs.

Early in his life, he discovered that he had a mathematical mind. After his middle school, he moved up to Uppsala university. At university he started to study astronomy. After all of his studying of the world he decided to become a professor in 1730.

Later on, he decided to travel the world and he discovered the shape of the Earth. Celsius travelled up to the North Pole. While he was there he discovered that the North Pole is flatter than the rest of the world. After that, he came back to Sweden and built an observatory in 1730 so he could do more experiments.

Suddenly, Anders had an idea to investigate mercury and invent a new gadget called a thermometer. He used mercury because it expands with different heat temperatures and contracts when in freezing objects. He put the mercury into a tube and placed the tube in some iced water and it lowered to a smaller point and named that 100 degrees Celsius. Then he put the tube of mercury into boiling water and it went to the top of the tube so he called that 0 degree Celsius. Later on, another scientist called Carl Linneaus swapped the degree points around so the boiling point was 100 degrees Celsius and the freezing point was 0 degree.

Suddenly, at the age of 43 he caught the TB disease and died very sadly in the year of 1744. Shortly after his death the thermometer became used and we use it quite often now in the year 2016, 315 years!!!! I think we should give Anders Celsius a big thank you for inventing such a wonderful gift.

Anders Celsius

315 years ago Anders Celsius was born in the tiny town of Uppsala, Sweden. It is not exactly known when he was born but it was said to be in between January or November.

In early years,Celsius was a gifted math mathematician. He went on to go to Uppsala where he studied on astronomy.

Celsius became a scientist of astronomy when he was 30 years old.

He went to go to other European countries to go star gazing and to go to the North Pole.

After his expedition around Europe He built a observertory the only in Sweden.

Later in his years he made a thermometer, that debuted after he died, He originally put the boiling point as 0 oc and the freezing point as 100oc this was reversed by Carl Linneaus .

272 years ago (1744 April 25) Celsius died at the age of 43 years old.

Now the thermometer is used world-wide. It changed changed the world
