ALUMNI LEADERSHIP PROGRAM APPLICATION

Big City Mountaineers is excited to announce a pilot leadership program for alumni students for the 2016 season. This program will aim to solidify life-skill lessons learned on the initial BCM expedition while expanding on leadership curriculum. Program elements will mirror BCM’s regular expeditions with the added challenge of working with a group of strangers. With the coaching of adult mentors, students will lead group discussions, facilitate group initiatives, and have the opportunity to guide a group of peers for the day.

Requirements:

·  Participation on BCM Expedition in previous year

·  Proven track record at youth agency of taking on leadership roles

·  Recommendation from youth agency staff

·  Excitement to return to the backcountry for a second BCM experience

·  Ability to commit to required dates (determined regionally)

1.  Complete the attached alumni program application form

2.  Complete a BCM youth application

3.  Have your youth agency leader complete the recommendation form

4.  Submit both documents to your regional program manager by May 15, 2016
