3rd grade State Project

You will be assigned one of the fifty states on which to make a poster board. At home and school, you will be researching information about your state from many different resources. Be sure to cite your sources and write the information in your own words. Your poster board must include pictures (hand-drawn and/or printed) and information about your state. Your poster board must be creative and informative. Little to no blank space should be seen. Remember to cite your sources on the sources page. The poster board should be no larger than 17 x 24 inches, it should be no smaller than 14 x 22 inches.

Presentation

You will be presenting your states to the class on Monday September 28, 2015.

The presentation must include your:

  • state name
  • state capitol
  • the year it became a state
  • state population
  • state history overview
  • 3 other things you learned about your state during your research

Your presentation will be a maximum of two minutes. Your board will be at the front of the class to accompany you during your presentation. All students are expected to give attention and respect during all presentations.
