Global Youth Leaders Summit 2017: Let’s Make the World a Better Place

“Global Youth Leaders Summit 2017: Let's Make the World a Better Place”is one of its kind international youth leader conference to be held on 28-29 June 2017, organized by the Global Youth Leadership Institute of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The SummitthemedSOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP will gather student leaders from across the world to share ideas and find solutions to some of the world’s pressingchallenges,and together, chart a future course in making the world a better place.

The Summit aims to:

  • Cultivate young leaders to make social impact through social entrepreneurship
  • Nurture a community of young leaders to discuss and act on global concerns

Distinguishing Features of the Summit

The Summit will feature:

  • Social Entrepreneurship Keynote Lecture by Professor Hau Lee, the Thoma Professor of Operations, Information, and Technology of Stanford Graduate School of Business. A leading expertin global supply chains, Professor Lee will expound in the lecture on how values created through entrepreneurial innovations can be a powerful means to support economic development in developing economies.
  • Student Leader Presentationson social entrepreneurship, poverty alleviation, and sustainable cities and communities.
  • Visit to Social Enterprises to gain hands-on insights on social entrepreneurship.
  • Roundtable Discussion to chart the future of young leaders from across the world coming together to make positive social change.

Student Presentation

In the student presentation sessions, students will make presentations on the projects they have done or plan to do in one of the following areas: social entrepreneurship[*], poverty alleviation and sustainable communities. There will be discussions and Q&A in each of the sessions.

To discuss the future of young leaders from across the world coming together to make positive social change

Both individual or group applications can be submitted. Selected studentsoutside of Hong Kongwill be provided return airfare (by reimbursement)and4-night accommodation, and their meals and transportation during the event will also be covered.A maximum of two students for a successful group application will be invited to the event. Expected date of arrival in Hong Kong is 27 June 2017; departure date is 1 July 2017.
