To help us innovate better and faster, we’re developing a new innovation and entrepreneurship program across the organisation. The purpose of the program is to discover and accelerate new ideas and high potential ventures.
The role
This role is the unicorn of graduate positions. It is a fast paced, career defining role for the right person. You will be a pivotal part of the Innovation team –the administrative glue that holds the team together.
Duties and Key Result Areas:
· Administration:
o Co-coordinating with multiple parties to organise and book meetings
o Managing invoicing and expense reconciliation
o Maintaining the network contacts database
o Planning and book travel for the team
· Communications
o Manage and update team websites (external & intranet)
o Manage the team email inbox
o Drafting newsletters and broadcast emails
o Taking notes in meetings
· Event co-ordination
o Assist with the planning and execution of events
o Merchandise management
· Engage the innovation program community and ecosystem through online and offline channels across CSIRO and through external engagement.
· Support projects to develop and continuously improve innovation practice, tools, processes and systems.
· Actively develop a working knowledge across CSIRO’s science & technology domains and support innovation teams across multiple domains at various stages of the innovation process.
· Communicate effectively and respectfully with all staff, clients and suppliers in the interests of good business practice, collaboration and enhancement of CSIRO’s reputation.
· Generate improved solutions in work situations, trying creative ways to deal with problems and opportunities.
· Develop strong internal networks with partners and stakeholders and actively support CSIRO’s Code of Conduct, OH&S policies and procedures.
· Other duties as directed.
Selection Criteria:
Under CSIRO policy only those who meet all essential criteria can be appointed
Pre-requisite:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant business, science or engineering discipline and or equivalent experience.
Essential Criteria:
1. Demonstrated ability to clearly convey information and ideas, and establish effective interpersonal relationships with a wide variety of people and to work effectively in a team, positively contributing to the team environment.
2. Strong attention to detail, and organisational skills. Able to prioritise demands, and escalate issues when required.
3. Ability to work with minimal direction while showing initiative and adaptability, and the ability to professionally handle sensitive and confidential information using appropriate judgment and discretion.
4. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
5. The ability and willingness to generate improved solutions in work situations, trying creative ways to deal with problems and opportunities.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Demonstrated experience in an innovation context (e.g. startup / accelerator / incubator, corporate innovation or research commercialisation).
2. Demonstrated experience in providing proactive administrative support to a line manager and/or team in a fast paced and complex environment.
