ROLE
To lead the design, development and delivery of relevant NCS activities across all delivery phases including residential elements in line with NCS programme requirements. To facilitate and deliver recruitment and promotional activities, maximising NCS programme participation in line with contractual requirements, ensuring the highest standards are maintained.
HOURS OF WORK
- Flexible between the hours of 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday with core hours between 10:00 and 4:00pm.
- Flexibility is essential as some weekends and evening work may be essential.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- To lead all phases of Shrewsbury Town in the Communities NCS programme, engaging and motivating young people throughout all phases of the programme, ensuring engagement and delivery reflects best practice
- To coordinate activities relating to each phase of the programme within the appropriate geographical locations, and development of effective measures in relation to those activities, including H&S considerations
- To ensure effective measures are developed in relation to a ‘keep warm’strategy, activity timetable creation, cohort management, staffing rations/mix, transport booking, home residential booking, community delivery venues, social action partners, delivery and graduations
- To be a source of expert advice regarding youth engagement and on the NCS programme, acting as role model and mentor in youth engagement and delivery activities
- To engage directly with young people prior to and during programme and maintain positive relationships with the young people, their parents/guardians and other stakeholders in order to promote group cohesion and maintain motivation throughout the programme
- To caseload manage NCS clients throughout the programme, administering cohorts assigned to delivery partners including RAG ratings and maintenance of client database
- To lead of the design, preparation and delivery of activities and materials in line with agreed objectives, SLA’s and quality standards ensuring a positive participant experience
- To monitor and evaluate activity to ensure desired outcomes are achieved in line with KPI’s and contractual requirements
- To effectively communicate with new and existing identified key contacts within recruitment establishments in order to achieve performance excellence
- To lead the delivery of recruitment events including but not limited to presentations/assemblies, workshops and stands
- To work in close partnership with the Education Manager ensuring key youth engagement work and participation are achieved to a high standard
- To work closely with the NCS management team to prioritise activity to identify/maximise outreach opportunities, drawing upon different engagement routes to enhance contract performance and meet stakeholderexpectations whilst responsive to young people’s requirements
- To use internal/external networking opportunities to share best practice and work collaboratively to develop innovative recruitment ideas which support NCS programme development
- To support the development and delivery of recruitment strategies and plans to achieve and exceed targets relating to programme recruitment
- To ensure the appropriate use of designated CRM both in relation to recruitment stakeholders and client information
- To support the design and development of existing and new creative engagement activities in order to appeal to and engage a broad social mix of programme participants
- To liaise with internal departments to support the preparation of generic but adaptable recruitment resources and marketing materials in order to successfully promote the NCS programme to key stakeholders
- To prospect, identify and follow up on engagement leads, effectively planning and arranging visits and talks accordingly by managing one’s own resource needs, establishing the expectations of the venue and ensuring up to date knowledge of the NCS offer in order to maximise the number of participants
- To maintain a schedule of opportunities and bookings, effectively planning use of one’s time and travel as efficiently as possible
- As required support conversion activities to support programme sign-up
- To accurately maintain contractual documentation and the CRM system with the ability to produce accurate and timely management information in order to provide visibility of progress to delivery partners and for the NCS Trusts reporting purposes
- To attend relevant training, ensuring adherence to best practice guidelines and quality processes and procedures
- To monitor own progress towards business and individual objectives
- Under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, each employee has a responsibility to Health and Safety and must also adhere to their responsibilities as laid out in the H&S Policy
- Any other related duties as required by the business objectives
- To resolve minor issues on a daily basis; to ensure that the NCS coordinator or Education Manager/ DSO is aware of all safeguarding issues.
- To promote the work of the organisation and ensure positive media is achieved through internal and external mediums – locally, regionally and nationally where applicable.
- Undertake any other trust duties as and when requested by the Community Manager.
