Walking Directions from the Hotel Indigo (1244 N. Dearborn)

  • Exit the hotel and turn left (walking north) on Dearborn for two blocks to Schiller St.
  • Turn left (west) on Schiller and walk 5 blocks west to North Park Ave (You will cross a main street, La Salle St., and walk past the main Catherine Cook School building and gym).
  • Turn right (north) on North Park.
  • The building is on your left.

From O’Hare InternationalAirport (17 miles)

By Car:

  • Merge onto I-190 E toward Chicago Loop.
  • I-190 E becomes Kennedy Expy E / I-90 E.
  • Take the IL-64 / North Ave / 1600 N exit- Exit 48B
  • Turn left onto W North Ave / IL-64.
  • Turn right onto N Wells St.
  • Turn right onto W SchillerSt. (You will walk past the main school building and gym.)
  • Turn right onto N. North Park Ave.
  • Building is on your right.

By El: (approximately 1 hour, cost $2.25)

  • Take the blue line into city
  • At Clark/Lake transfer to the brown line
  • Take brown line towardthe Loop/Downtown
  • Get off at Sedgwick
  • Walk two blocks east on North Ave. to North Park.
  • Turn right on North Park and head south.
  • The building is on the east side of the street, just north of Schiller St.

From Midway Airport (13 miles)

By Car:

  • Merge onto I-55 N / Stevenson Expy. N.
  • Take the I-90 W / Ryan Expy. / I-94 W exit- Exit 292A- toward Wisconsin.
  • Merge onto I-90 W / I-94 W via Exit 53A toward Wisconsin.
  • Take the East Ohio St exit- Exit 50B.
  • Stay straightto go onto W Ohio St.
  • Turn left onto N La Salle Blvd / N La Salle St.
  • Turn left onto W Schiller St. (You will pass the main school building and gym.)
  • Building is on your right.
  • End at 266 W Schiller St

  • Take orange line into city
  • At Roosevelt transfer to red line
  • Take red line towards Howard
  • Get off at Clark/Division (northeast corner exit) and walk two blocks west on Division.
  • Turn right (north) on Wells and walk two blocks. Turn left (west) on Schiller.
  • Walk two blocks west to North Park Ave. (You will walk past the main school building and gym.)
  • Turn right on North Park; the building will be on your right.

Public Transportation Options

The school is accessible by public transportation on the #22 Clark Street, #36 Broadway, or #156 LaSalle busses. It is three blocks east and two blocks south of the brown line Sedgwick El Stop and two blocks north and three blocks west of the Clark/Division Subway stop on the red line. Parking

Street Parking: Permit “residential” parking is strictly enforced in this neighborhood and metered parking will not be a good option for a day long workshop. Street parking on LaSalle Street (1 ½ blocks east of the school between North and Division) is available without a permit or meters. On the west side of the street parking is available after 9:30 am. On the east side of the street parking is available until 4:00 pm. Limited neighborhood parking is also available within a few blocks of the school, but be aware that many streets require residential permits.

Paid Parking: The closest private parking is available at Cobblers Square located on the corner of North Park Avenue and Schiller. The surface lot rates are $12 – 1-3 hours, $16 – 3-12 hours and $25 – 12-24 hours. If you lose your ticket you’ll be charged $50.
