Overview
Working closely with the Programme Director and Programme Coordinator, the Training Manager manages the students in their learning journey on the Trust’s training programmes, from enrolment through to final award.
The ideal candidate will have a depth of understanding, knowledge and experience of both the therapeutic growth process and the therapeutic learning process that students undergo on psychotherapeutic training programmes.
Bringing your organisational experience together with your therapeutic training, you’ll have a passion for learning and reflective enquiry, and will love supporting people to develop. Drawing on your own training, experience and reflective practices you’ll have a strongly relational approach to working skilfully with people.

Job Purpose
Managing the student learning journey through enrolment, learning, assessment and award.
Main Responsibilities
Assessment, Progression and Award
To plan and manage the student assessment journey and assessment process for written, non-written and clinical work.
To develop and oversee assessment standards.
To monitor and manage student progression and award.
To manage the relationship with academic partner organisations and university panels
To manage the External Examiner relationship ensuring EE actions/advice is implemented as appropriate.
Management of the assessment team and their allocation of work
Act as an assessor and moderator where needed
Manage marking policies & procedures, in particular, provision of guidance to markers, adherence to QA Standards & governing/regulatory bodies.
Management responsibility for awards, deferments, intermissions, student progression
Management of Internal Assessment meetings and Assessment Panel meetings
Students
Supporting students in their learning journey and psychotherapeutic development, providing appropriate assistance during their training.
Managing student queries and learning challenges.
To build good ‘holding’ relationship with students, providing support and challenge as appropriate, and dealing with difficulties, complaints and concerns as they arise.
To provide support and advice to students on policy, procedure and process of assessment, progression and award.
To manage the student representative relationship and meetings
Updating and publishing of student facing documentation including handbooks, practice guide, policy documents, application forms, terms and conditions
Programme Team
To support the study tutors in their pastoral, academic and assessment role
To support the training supervisors in their assessment role
To work closely with study tutors and supervisors and to provide guidance re policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards
To sit on the Programme Executive Board
To manage and develop the assessors team
Training and Standards
To liaise with Operations team to ensure training hosting needs are met.
To provide trainer/supervisor cover where appropriate.
To be responsible for maintaining and upholding a high standard of professional training and practice within the Trust’s counselling & psychotherapy programmes
Professional Accreditation and Standards
To manage annual monitoring/QA process with professional bodies and academic partners
To monitor and evaluate the performance and standards of training delivery through collation of student feedback and assessment.
Collaborative link with University / Academic partners
Admissions
To oversee the clinical and quality aspects of assessment of new and prospective students, specifically assessing applications for Essentials, Foundation, PGDip and MA
Manage programmes admissions process
Provide enrolment/deferment data to Finance Manager for billing purposes at each intake

. / Essential:
Psychosynthesis Counselling or Psychotherapy qualification (or with a qualification from a transpersonal/humanistic modality)
Minimum 3 years post qualification clinical experience
Member of BACP or UKCP
Minimum of 150 hours of personal therapy with a BACP or UKCP registered therapist
Education to postgraduate level
Desirable:
Experience of managing freelance staff
Experience of designing and delivering training
Experience of working with assessment in an educational setting
Experience of working with groups and group process
Experience of working and thinking systemically in an organisation
Teaching experience at postgraduate and/or masters level
Supervision qualification
