Faculty Awards
GrandValleyStateUniversity is pleased to honor our excellent faculty in a range of areas of accomplishment: teaching in and outside of the classroom, contributing significant scholarship that advancestheir profession and enriches teaching, offering inspired mentoring toour students, and providingdedicated service to the campus andcommunity.

Most applications ask for some combination of the following: completing a nomination form, letters of support from colleagues or others, a CV and a reflective statement by the nominee.
Distinguished Contribution in a Discipline Award / Faculty memberwhose performance in scholarly or creative activities or whose contributions through service to professional organizations isoutstanding.(Previous Recipients) CSCE – due Nov. 1
Distinguished Early Career Scholar Award / Faculty member who began their independent scholarship within the past six years, demonstrating mastery (major contributions and national recognition) in their field, and showing significant potential for continued success

Distinguished Undergraduate Mentoring Award / Faculty member who demonstrates excellence inmentoring undergraduate researchers and encouraging mentoring relationships with undergraduate students.

Distinguished Graduate Mentoring Award / Faculty member who has direct and significant impact and involvement with graduate students with outstanding commitment and effectiveness as a mentor of graduate students, innovative mentoring practices, and demonstrated effort providing consistent mentoring of graduate students.

Outstanding University Service Award / Faculty membercommitted toservice to the university.
