CHILDREN’S MINISTRY COORDINATOR

Summary:

Emerald City Bible Fellowship is seeking applicants for a part-time Children Ministry Coordinator. The Children’s Ministry Coordinator will provide leadership for the Toddler, Pre-School and Elementary School programs.

Responsibilities:

· Cast vision for ministry to children and families that aligns with the vision of ECBF

· Build programs that teach and promote biblical foundations and faith for children that lead them to know, love and serve Jesus

· Recruit, train, coordinate and supervise all leaders, teachers, and volunteers for children’s ministry programs. Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins with Team Leads and Children’s Ministry workers/staff/volunteers and mentor/disciple as needed.

· Select curriculum materials and review educational policies for all active children’s programs

· Ensure appropriate integration of children’s programs with the infrastructure of ECBF. Capitalize on opportunities for the children to encourage/support body members and participate in church service (via worship, prayer, special programs, etc.)

· Establish ministry goals and objectives by prioritizing children’s programs, managing the children’s space, planning an appropriate budget, delegating tasks, and evaluating progress regularly

· Attend weekly staff meetings, leadership meetings, Leadership Council (when requested), trainings, retreats and church services

· Communicate and coordinate with Youth Pastor and other church ministries to ensure lines of communication and activities are strong and congruent

· Establish effective communication (emails, take home materials, etc.) with parents in order to partner in children’s discipleship

· Select and purchase all supplies, toys, craft items, snacks and food for Children’s Ministry programs

· Establish a clear connection between Elementary and Middle School programs to ensure smooth transition for advancing 5th graders

· Capitalize on opportunities to engage children and families in missions and generous giving

· Develop network of Children’s Ministry partners for support and accountability

· Stay current on Evangelical Covenant Church policies re: child abuse prevention and safety and train as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Experience working with children and families

· Passionate about leading children into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and nurturing them in their faith

· Able to implement an educational approach using curriculum, behavior management, age appropriate structure and development of learning skills

· Gifts of administration, teaching, encouraging and pastoral care

· B.A. degree preferred

· Five years of experience in a related field preferred

· Desire to work cooperatively and collaboratively with church leadership, volunteers and families

· CPR certified or willing to become CPR certified

COMPETENCIES:

· Capable and experienced at working effectively and sensitively in a multi-ethnic environment

· Demonstrated ability to recruit, train and lead teams of volunteers

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
