Are you ready for recital?

1.checklist for photo day

☐ / Costumes will arrive by the end of May. Full payment is required to receive your costume.
☐ / Please double check with our dance list for proper shoes and tights available for purchase at Mierenas.
☐ / Hair for all classes is a high bun. Please see how to make a doughnut bun (below). Some hip hop numbers may have a high ponytail so please check with your dance teacher.
☐ / Have a makeup & hair kit
☐ / Please be sure your dance shoes are nice and clean for photos and stage

2.how to make a doughnut bun – youtube videos available on how to…

☐ / Put hair in ponytail using a hair elastic
☐ / Put your ponytail through the hole of the hair shaper/doughnut
☐ / Tip your head forward so that the hair covers the shaper and hold with a hair elastic
☐ / Take the longer pieces of hair and start bobby pinning or using hair pins to secure them around the outside of the ‘bun’
☐ / Wrap a hairnet at least 2x around the bun
☐ / Add and secure hair with more bobby pins and hair pins. Don’t be afraid – you can stick pins directly into the shaper/doughnut.

3.what do i need for makeup?

☐ / Lip-gloss and loose pink sparkles that can be applied with a q-tip
☐ / False eyelashes or lots and lots of mascara
☐ / Sticker rhinestones to be applied to corners of the eyes
☐ / Pink and white eyeshadow

4.signing in and out at meadowvale theatre

☐ / Consent forms will be handed out on photo day and must have the name of the guardian dropping off and picking up your dancer from backstage.
☐ / Photo ID may be required – photo packages will also be available on this day
☐ / Be sure to have an updated cell phone number on our file for emergency purposes.
☐ / We appreciate your positivity and patience backstage
